Kinga Wangchuk (born 19 September 2002) is a Bhutanese international footballer who plays as a winger for Paro FC in the Bhutan Premier League and the Bhutan national team.
Raised with four siblings, Kinga's father works at Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited, while his mother is a full-time homemaker. Supported by his parents, he chose to leave 12th grade to pursue a career in football. [1]
Kinga secured a place at the BFF Academy in 2015, when he was 13 years old, after attending Sonamgang Middle Secondary School in Phuntsholing. [1] In 2017, Kinga participated in the 2017 SAFF U-15 Championship held in Nepal. He also managed to score during a 6–0 victory over Sri Lanka U17 in the group-stages. [2]
Kinga joined Ugyen Academy FC in 2020, scoring in a 3–1 victory over High Quality United FC in the club's opening game of the 2020 Bhutan Premier League. [3]
He previously played as a guest player for Transport United FC during the 2019 AFC Cup, a club he would later go on to permanently join in 2021. [1] He helped the club win the 2022 BFF President's Cup scoring in the final against Thimphu City FC. [4]
Kinga represented Paro FC as a guest player during both the 2022 and 2023 editions of the AFC Cup. [5] [6] He eventually secured a permanent move, helped the club win the 2023 Bhutan Premier League.
Kinga represented Bhutan at youth level during both the 2020 AFC U-19 Championship qualifiers and the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers. [7]
On 22 June 2023, Kinga made his debut for the Bhutan national team during the 2023 SAFF Championship against Maldives. [8]
Kinga has cited Paro FC teammate, Kazuo Honma, as his favourite player. [1]

The Bhutan national football team represents Bhutan in men's international football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation, which is a member of the Asian Football Federation and the regional body the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The national football team of Bhutan plays its home games at the national stadium, Changlimithang.
Transport United Football Club is a Bhutanese professional football club based in Thimphu that competes in the Bhutan Premier League, the top level of Bhutanese football. The club was founded in 2001 and plays at the Changlimithang Stadium. Transport United has won five national championships, and was a dominant force in Bhutanese football throughout much of the first decade of the 21st century.
Drukpol Football Club, sometimes referred to as Druk Pol, was a football club from Thimphu, Bhutan. Until 1996, the team was called Royal Bhutan Police FC. Drukpol FC has won the A-Division championship a record eight times, more than any other team in Bhutan. The team's home ground was Changlimithang Stadium.
Football is a sport with a comparatively brief history in Bhutan, having had an initial period of favour in the mid-twentieth century, when it was first introduced to the country by visiting teachers from India and Europe. It has only achieved significantly renewed popularity in the early 2000s, following the advent of satellite television broadcasting, with historically national sport being archery. Consequently, the domestic game was underdeveloped. After the establishment of an initial league in the late 1980s, little in the way of recorded competition took place until the mid-1990s when a formal championship, the A-Division, was created. The 2017 SAFF U-15 Championship was the 4th edition of the SAFF U-15 Championship, an international football competition for men's under-15 national teams organized by SAFF. Since most teams use to send their U-15 team keeping in mind 2018 AFC U-16 Championship qualification it has been officially changed to U-15 tournament. The tournament was hosted by Nepal from 18 to 27 of August, 2017 at ANFA Complex, Satdobato and Halchowk Stadium. Six teams from the region took part, divided into two groups.
