Kiran Badloe (born 13 September 1994) is a Dutch windsurfer. He won the gold medal in the men's event at the 2019 RS:X World Championships and 2020 RS:X World Championships. [1] [2]

In October 2020, he competed at the iQFoil International Games held at Campione, Lake Garda. [3]

At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, he won gold for the Netherlands in windsurfing. [4]

After his Olympic win, Badloe garnered media attention for the distinctive "blue colored arrow haircut" he sported during the competition. [5] The hairstyle was an homage to the cartoon character Aang from the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. Badloe explained the show's connection to his haircut ahead of his medal race: [6]

It's about a kid that controls the wind, and he needs to control all different kinds of elements of nature in order to do something great, and I'm doing the same here.

In March 2022, his portrait was added to a mural in the Schilderswijk neighbourhood of The Hague, Netherlands, alongside other Dutch competitors of the Summer or Winter Olympics and Paralympics held in 2021 and 2022. [7]

In addition the RS:X was used Youth Sailing World Championships which is run entirely by World Sailing this unlike the class youth world championship is limited to one competitor per country.

Byron Kokkalanis, also spelled Vyron, is a Greek windsurfer of partly Filipino ancestry. He started sailing in 1997 in the Mistral class and 3 years later he won the Mistral Junior World Championship, his first international regatta. He took the fifth place at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the sixth place at the 2012 London Olympic Games. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games he finished in the 11th place.

Paweł Aleksander Maria Tarnowski is a Polish sailor, son of Jacek Tarnowski, and Monika Wanicka. Tarnowski already competed at the top-level when he was a teenager, becoming a multiple medal winner in Junior World Championships. In 2011 and 2012, he won a gold medal at the RS:X Junior World Championships, and he won medals in European Champion. In first he started in classes Techno 293 Class and at present RS:X, (including in a category age under 17 and under 21 years of age.
He is sometimes seen as a model in commercials, including polish company Atlas or on the cover of album Superheroes : Chapter One - Courage of the band Synthphonia.

Katia Belabbas is an Algerian windsurfer who competes in the RS:X class. She competed for Algeria at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Mateo Sanz Lanz is a Spanish-born Swiss windsurfer. He competed for Switzerland at the 2016 Summer Olympics, placing 14th in the men's RS:X event, and at the 2020 Summer Olympics, placing 8th in the men's RS:X event. Sanz Lanz placed 2nd in the men's event at the 2017 RS:X World Championships. He was born in Formentera del Segura and resides in San Francisco Javier, Formentera, Balearic Islands.

Katy Spychakov is an Israeli windsurfer. Spychakov won the 2015 Female Under 17 Techno 293 World Championships, the 2016 RS:X Class Youth Female World Championships, and the 2019 U21 Women's RS:X World Championships. She won a silver medal in the Women's 2019 RS:X World Championships.

Aleksandra Blinnikka is a Finnish windsurfer. She started her international competition career in 2013 in Raceboard Class. Since then she has competed in Raceboard and RS:X Olympic Class events. 2020 she changed the discipline to the new IQFOIL Olympic class as it was chosen to be the new windsurfing olympic class in the next summer olympics 2024. She has twice won the Raceboard Worlds and the European Championships.

Emma Wilson is a British windsurfer who won a bronze medal in the RS:X event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She won the RS:X events at the Youth Sailing World Championships in 2016 and 2017, and won medals at the 2018 and 2019 RS:X European Championships, and the 2022 and 2023 IQFoil European Championships.

iQFoil is a windsurfing class selected by World Sailing to replace the RS:X for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The discipline has similarities to Formula Windsurfing, however a notable difference is that sailors only use one sail. The sail size is 9m2 for the men and 8m2 for the women. The rider has a choice between using a hydrofoil or a conventional 68 cm fin.

Finn Hawkins is a British windsurfer. He won a bronze medal at the 2018 World U21 Sailing Championships in Liepāja and a bronze medal, and Team GB's first, at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. He was subsequently a nominee for the UK Windsurfing Association's 2018 Windsurfer of the Year.

Amina Nadjet Berrichi is an Algerian sailor. She is also known as Nadjet Amina Berrichi, Amina Berrichi, or Nadjet Berrichi. She placed 27th in the Women's RS:X event at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 13th in the IQFoil event competing for Algeria at the 2022 Mediterranean Games.

Hélène Noesmoen is a French windsurfer who competes in the IQFoil class. She won the women's events at the 2021 IQFoil World Championships and the 2020, 2021 and 2022 IQFoil European Championships. Noesmoen also won the RS:X event at the 2018 Sailing World Cup event in Miami, and multiple junior world championships.
