Kevin Rhomberg [2] (born August 12, 1992), [3] better known by his stage name Knox Fortune, is an American singer and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. [4] He provided a guest vocal on Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book track "All Night". [5] [6]

Early life

Born Kevin Rhomberg in Chicago, Illinois, Knox Fortune grew up in the Western suburb of Oak Park, Illinois. [7] He took piano lessons when he was young. [8] He graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School. [9] Afterwards, he took classes at Triton College. [10]

Career

Knox Fortune has collaborated with Joey Purp, Kami, Towkio, Vic Mensa, and Chance the Rapper. [11] His debut solo studio album, Paradise, was released in 2017. [12]

Style and influences

In 2017, Dan Hyman of Rolling Stone described Knox Fortune as "a key sonic architect of the contemporary Chicago hip-hop scene." [13] In a 2017 interview with Billboard , Knox Fortune stated that he was inspired by skateboarding, as well as the Beach Boys, Kanye West, J Dilla, the Neptunes, and the Beatles. [14]

The album was influenced by Chance's marriage in March 2019. The album was lauded by most critics, but certain aspects of the work found limited commercial success. The album received backlash from fans on social media and other Internet communities citing inconsistencies of quality throughout the work. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, Chance's highest-charting entry to date.
