Konstantinos Gelaouzos is a Greek long-distance runner. He was born on 21 November 1990 in Amfissa and resides in Athens. His personal best in the Marathon run (2:14:15) places him in the fifth place among all time Greek Marathon runners.

On 14 November 2021, with a time of 2:16:49 during the 2021 Athens Classic Marathon, he set the record for the fastest Greek runner of all time that has run the classic route. [4]

Gelaouzos was punished by the National Anti-Doping Organization (EOCAN) with a four-year ban, effective from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2026, for using the banned substance erythropoietin Kostas Gelaouzos: Four-year ban due to doping

Alberto Salazar is an American former track coach and long-distance runner. Born in Cuba, Salazar immigrated to the United States as a child with his family, living in Connecticut and then in Wayland, Massachusetts, where Salazar competed in track and field in high school. Salazar won the New York City Marathon three times in the early 1980s, and won the 1982 Boston Marathon in a race known as the "Duel in the Sun". The World Marathon Majors (WMM) is a championship-style competition for marathon runners that started in 2006. A points-based competition founded on six major marathon races recognised as the most high-profile on the calendar, the series comprises annual races for the cities of Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York. In addition, each edition of the series recognises and includes the results of the major global championship marathon held in that year, usually on a one-off lapped course.
