The Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) is a think tank and research center developing South Korean policies on marine affairs and fisheries,operated by the South Korean government through the Office of Government Policy Coordination. KMI was established under its current name in 1997,though expanded from a research center created in 1984 specializing in shipping economics. [1]

Established by an IMO Assembly Resolution in 1983,the aim of WMU is to further enhance the objectives and goals of IMO and IMO member States around the world through education,research,and capacity building.

Pukyong National University is a national university in Busan,South Korea,formed in 1996. The university has two campuses,Daeyeon-dong and Yongdang-dong,situated near the coastal district of Nam-gu. PKNU has a traditional focus on fisheries sciences and other maritime fields,and has extensive facilities for Marine and Technology studies.
The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (or CIFNET) formerly known as the Central Institute of Fisheries Operatives,is a marine studies centre located at Kochi,India. Maintained by the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry and Dairying of the Government of India,the institute was set up to aid research and development in the field.

Marine Fisheries Academy (MFA) known as Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Academy (BMFA) is a government-run training institution in Bangladesh for cadets wishing to enter the fishing industry,merchant shipping and other related maritime industries. Established in 1973,it is the only national organization offering training for these professions.

Since Summer 2021 he is Chair of the Department of History at Old Dominion University.

The fishing industry of South Korea depends on the existing bodies of water that are shared between South Korea,China and Japan. Its coastline lies adjacent to the Yellow Sea,the East China Sea and the East Sea,and enables access to marine life such as fish and crustaceans.
Friend of the Sea is a project of the World Sustainability Organization for the certification and promotion of seafood from sustainable fisheries and sustainable aquaculture. It is the only certification scheme which,with the same logo,certifies both wild and farmed seafood.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) was established in 2013,the 37th public university of the country. It is the first maritime university in Bangladesh,the 3rd maritime university in South Asia and the 12th maritime university in the world. It has issued its first calls for admission in December,2016. The BSc in Oceanography program was started on 3 January 2017 at the University's temporary campus in Mirpur,as part of the first-ever launch of the Bachelor class in the University. Then in 2018,the first batch of BSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering classes started. Two more program classes started in 2019. LLB in Maritime Law and BBA in Port Management and Logistics. 2020 BSc in Maritime Fisheries first batch admission and classes start.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs,previously known as the Ministry of Ports and Shipping,is a Federal Ministry of the Government of Pakistan. The current Minister for Maritime Affairs is Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh and the current Federal Secretary for Maritime Affairs is Iram Anjum Khan. The longest-serving Federal Secretary for Ports and Shipping are Muhammad Saleem Khan and Rizwan Ahmed. The Ministry is headquartered in Islamabad and its main attached departments are in the port city of Karachi.
The maritime industries of Taiwan are a large part of Taiwan's economy. Industries of particular importance are shipbuilding,boat building,maritime transport,aquaculture,mariculture,commercial fishing,seafood processing,offshore wind power and various forms of tourism. Deep sea mining,especially of dormant hydrothermal vents,is also being considered for the future. In 2018 Taiwan was the fourth largest yacht building nation. Taiwan is home to a number of maritime museums and maritime colleges.
