Kourou Airport( ICAO : SOOK) is an airport serving Kourou, a commune of French Guiana. Kourou is the location of the Centre Spatial Guyanais (CSG), the French and European spaceport.
Transport in French Guiana consists of transport by road, boat, bus, and airplane. There is a railway line within the Guiana Space Centre to transport spacecraft. The road network is mainly concentrated in the coastal region. The interior of Guiana is accessed by plane or boat. It was used by Arianespace for two Ariane 3 launches, the second Ariane 2 launch in 1987, and all 116 Ariane 4 launches between 1988 and 2003. Following the retirement of the Ariane 4 in favour of the Ariane 5, ELA-2 was deactivated. In September 2011 the pad's mobile service tower was demolished using explosives.

Saramaka is a neighbourhood of Kourou, French Guiana. The neighbourhood is mainly populated by Saramaka maroons from Suriname who settled in the area during the construction of the Guiana Space Centre.
