Kristen Gislefoss (born 2 May 1954) is a Norwegian meteorologist and weather presenter.

He was born in Vennesla, took his secondary education at Kristiansand Cathedral School and the cand.real. degree at the University of Bergen in 1980. He then took the teachers' seminary before being hired in the Norwegian Meteorological Institute in 1981. In 1990 he became a prime time weather presenter for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. He resides at Grav [2] and is the father of meteorologist and weather presenter Kristian Gislefoss. [3]

A weather presenter is a person who presents the weather forecast daily on radio, television or internet news broadcasts. Using diverse tools, such as projected weather maps, they inform the viewers of the current and future weather conditions, explain the reasons underlying this evolution, and relay to the public any weather hazards and warnings issued for their region, country or larger areas. There are no basic qualifications to become a weather presenter; depending on the country and the media, it can range from an introduction to meteorology for a television host to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized university. Therefore a weather presenter is not to be confused with a meteorologist, or weather forecaster, the holder of a diploma in meteorology.

<i>Skal vi danse?</i> Norwegian television program

Skal vi danse is the Norwegian edition of the British television series, Strictly Come Dancing. It is produced by Monster Entertainment and broadcast on TV 2 Jon Peder Olrud and Geir Bie were producers in the first season. The second and third seasons were produced by Ingvild Daae. The series premiered on TV 2 on January 15, 2006. Skal vi danse? in Norwegian means "shall we dance?" and the Dancing celebrities with professional dancers and companies are reviewed by a panel of judges and the TV viewers. Each pair consists of a celebrity and a professional dancer and the one with the fewest votes does not participate in the next round.

Ragnar Fjørtoft was an internationally recognized Norwegian meteorologist. He was part of a Princeton, New Jersey team that in 1950 performed the first successful numerical weather prediction using the ENIAC electronic computer.
