Kristin Brudevoll (born 4 January 1943) is a Norwegian literary scholar and organizational leader. She was the director of the Norla (Norwegian Literature Abroad).
On 4 January 1943, Brudevoll was born in Lillehammer, Norway. [1]
She was a daughter of Øyvinn Bjarne Sannerud and Gerd Sofie Schye. In 1964 she married Ulf Aakre Brudevoll. [1]
Brudevoll studied literature at the University of Arizona, and teacher's education in Oslo. [1]
Brudevoll is the director of the Norla (Norwegian Literature Abroad) from 1978 to 2006. Brudevoll has been a member of various committees for international cultural cooperation. She was awarded the St. Olav's Medal in 1994, and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award in 1998. [1] [2]
The St. Olav's Medal and the St. Olav's Medal With Oak Branch were instituted by King Haakon VII of Norway on 17 March 1939. They are awarded in recognition of "outstanding services rendered in connection with the spreading of information about Norway abroad and for strengthening the bonds between expatriate Norwegians and their home country".

Torill Thorstad Hauger was a Norwegian novelist, children's writer, non-fiction writer and illustrator. She was the author of a number of prize-winning novels with historical themes for children and teenagers.
Fritt Ord Award consists of two prizes awarded by the Fritt Ord Foundation. Two prizes are awarded in support of freedom of speech and freedom of expression; the Fritt Ord Award and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award . These are awards are distributed annually during the month of May in connection with the anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II in May 1945. Prizes are awarded to one or more persons or organizations that have contributed to areas where the organization works, especially in the work of freedom of expression. In addition to a monetary reward, the award includes a statue by sculptor Nils Aas.
