Krod Records is an independent punk rock record label based in Berlin, Germany. Krod Records was created in 2015 in Toulouse, France and it is owned by Jordan Calvi. The label was named Keine Rose ohne Dornen at the beginning and it evolved into Krod quickly. The label currently has 11 active bands. [1]

History

Krod Records is a French punk rock independent record label created in Toulouse, France in 2015 by owner Jordan Calvi. Shortly thereafter, Loïc Gauthey joined the team.

In 2016, Krod Records began to work with the French punk hardcore band Fire At Will to release Life Goes On album. [2] They followed this up with the addition of Colour Me Wednesday [3] from London [4] and German band The Deadnotes [5] [6] to release a retrospective ep Anyone & Everyone followed by a full-length album I'll Kiss All Fears Out Of Your Face .

In February 2017, they celebrated their second birthday with a show in Toulouse with Tiny Moving Parts, Trash Boat, Daylight and Skull Soda at Le Cri de la Mouette. [7] [8]

In May 2017, they announced the release of the second album Club Dragon from Hightower. [9] [10] [11] In June, they signed Dream Nails for the release of two singles. [12] [13]

In the end of 2017, they add South Berkeley in their family.

In 2018, they celebrated their third anniversary in Berlin with Daggermouth, Hightower, The Deadnotes and Kill Her First.

Meat Puppets are an American rock band formed in January 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona. The group's original lineup was Curt Kirkwood (guitar/vocals), his brother Cris Kirkwood, and Derrick Bostrom (drums). The Kirkwood brothers met Bostrom while attending Brophy Prep High School in Phoenix. The three then moved to Tempe, Arizona, where the Kirkwood brothers purchased two adjacent homes, one of which had a shed in the back where they regularly practiced.

Industrial rock

Industrial rock is an alternative rock genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Cromagnon, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Chrome. Industrial rock became more prominent in the 1980s with the success of artists such as Killing Joke, Swans, and partially Skinny Puppy, and later spawned the offshoot genre known as industrial metal. The genre was made more accessible to mainstream audiences in the 1990s with the aid of acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, both of which have released platinum-selling records.

Dischord Records US independent record label

Dischord Records is a Washington, D.C.-based independent record label specializing in punk rock. The label is co-owned by Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson, who founded Dischord in 1980 to release Minor Disturbance by The Teen Idles. With other independent American labels such as Twin/Tone, Touch and Go Records, and SST Records, Dischord helped to spearhead the nationwide network of underground bands that formed the 1980s indie-rock scene. These labels presided over the shift from the hardcore punk that then dominated the American underground scene to the more diverse styles of alternative rock that were emerging.

Fat Wreck Chords is a San Francisco, California-based independent record label, focused on punk rock. It was started by NOFX lead singer Michael Burkett and his girlfriend at the time, Erin Burkett, in 1990.

Alexisonfire Canadian post-hardcore band

Alexisonfire is a five-piece Canadian post-hardcore band that formed in St. Catharines, Ontario in 2001. They describe their music as "the sound of two Catholic high-school girls in mid-knife-fight". When the band emerged in late 2001, it was enough to impress critics as well as earning their self-titled debut album a platinum certification in Canada. The band has released three subsequent successful studio albums since then: Watch Out! in 2004, Crisis in 2006, and Old Crows/Young Cardinals in 2009, each achieving platinum certification in their native country. Plus three special edition live albums from Manchester Academy, Birmingham Academy, and Brixton Academy. Their accolades include a 2005 Juno Award for New Group of the Year.

Sacred Cowboys are an Australian post-punk and rock band formed by mainstay Garry Gray, as lead singer-songwriter, and Mark Ferrie in 1982. The line-up has changed as the group splintered and reformed several times, being active from 1982 to 1985, 1987 to 1991, 1994 to 1997 and 2006 to 2008. Boris (band) Japanese band

Boris is a Japanese experimental music band formed in 1992 in Tokyo and composed of drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata. All three members participate in vocal performance. Boris has released more than twenty studio albums on various labels around the world, as well as a wide variety of live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, and collaborative albums. They have collaborated with acts such as Sunn O))), Merzbow, and Keiji Haino.

Watashi Wa was a Christian pop rock band from San Luis Obispo, California on Tooth & Nail Records. "Watashi wa" (私は) in Japanese means "I".

Cold Cave

Cold Cave is the moniker for the music of Wesley Eisold based in Los Angeles and New York City whose music is described as a "collage of darkwave, noise, and synthpop". A number of reviewers note the affinity with early 1980s post-punk and early synthpop, in particular Joy Division.

The Story So Far is an American pop punk band from Walnut Creek, California, formed in 2007. They are currently signed to Pure Noise Records and have released 4 studio albums.

Honne (band)

Honne is an English electronic music duo formed in 2014 in Bow, London, consisting of James Hatcher (producer) and Andy Clutterbuck. They both write, record, and produce their music. The band released their first two EPs, Warm on a Cold Night and All in the Value, on Super Recordings in 2014. In 2015 they released their third EP, Coastal Love, on their own Atlantic Records imprint, Tatemae Recordings. Honne's debut studio album, Warm on a Cold Night (Tatemae/Atlantic), was released 22 July 2016; their second, Love Me/Love Me Not (Tatemae/Atlantic), followed on 28 August 2018.

Knocked Loose is an American hardcore punk band from Oldham County, Kentucky, formed in 2013 and currently signed to Pure Noise Records. The band released its first studio album, Laugh Tracks, on September 16, 2016 through Pure Noise Records.

Colour Me Wednesday is an English indie pop/pop punk band from West London, England, built around sisters Jen and Harriet Doveton. The band are noted for their melodic guitar pop, politicised lyrics and DIY punk method, including producing their own recordings, artwork and promotional videos.

Dream Nails

Dream Nails is an English all-female DIY punk/riot grrrl band from London founded in 2015. The group identify themselves as “punk witches” and are known for their riotous live shows that mix storming punk guitar with sweet three-part harmonies.

The Deadnotes are a pop punk band from Freiburg in Germany founded in 2011 by Jakob Walheim (bassist) and Darius Lohmüller (guitarist). They asked their friend Yannic Arens to join the band as a drummer. The Deadnotes have toured Europe extensively and released two full length records.

Hightower (band)

Hightower is a French punk rock band from Paris founded in 2013 by two cousins, Romain Mariani and Jeremie Lombard, who grew up listening to punk rock music from the 1990s. The band is notable for their combination of heavy vocals and intense melodies which create an original mix of energy and thrill.

<i>Anyone and Everyone</i> 2016 EP by Colour Me Wednesday

Anyone and Everyone is an EP from the pop punk band Colour Me Wednesday. This EP was released on digital platforms and CD on 30 March 2016 and on vinyl 7 inch through Dovetown and Krod Records on 12 July 2016. Wiener Records made a tape version of this EP. It was recorded at Dovetown Recordings and at Wingrove Farm in the United Kingdom. It was mixed and mastered by Luke Yates.

Boston Manor (band) British pop punk band

Boston Manor are a British pop punk band formed in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, in March 2013. They released a first EP, Here/Now, through Never Mend Records on Bandcamp, and in 2014 they signed with Failure By Design Records for their second EP, Driftwood. In 2015 the band signed with Pure Noise Records: with them, they released another EP, Saudade, as well as their full-length albums Be Nothing (2016), Welcome to the Neighbourhood (2018) and Glue (2020). The band's sound blends emo with heavier influences, reminiscing of 90's grunge and early 2000s post-hardcore. The band have been nominated for Best British Breakthrough at Kerrang! Awards in 2018 and Welcome to the Neighbourhood received a nomination for Best Album Artwork at Heavy Music Awards in 2019.
