Kshitij R. Vyas (born 19 July 1944) is an Indian Judge and former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Career

Vyas was born in 1944, at village Bhalod in Bharuch District of Gujarat. In 1968, he passed Law from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and started practice in Gujarat High Court on Civil, Criminal and constitutional matters. He also appeared before Supreme Court of India in various matters. Vyas worked as Law representative of Uchha Nyayalaya Patrika, a law Journal of Central Government. He became member of the Managing Committee of the Gujarat High Court Advocates' Association as well as elected as Joint Secretary, Secretary and Vice President of the High Court Advocates' Association at different times. On 22 November 1990, he was appointed the judge of Gujarat High Court. Justice Vyas was elevated to the post of the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court on 25 February 2006. [1] [2] After the retirement he became the Chairperson of Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission on 21 August 2007. [3]

Lokeshwar Singh Panta is an Indian jurist and former judge. He served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India and was the first chairperson of the National Green Tribunal. Currently, he holds the position of Lokayukta in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Vijaya Kamlesh Tahilramani is a former Indian judge and prosecutor, who last served as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. Previously, as a judge of the Bombay High Court, she notably upheld the conviction of several persons for the rape of a pregnant Muslim woman during the 2002 Gujarat riots, chastising investigative authorities for their inaction in the matter, and also refused parole for those convicted in the 1993 Bombay bombings. She retired in 2019, after refusing to accept a controversial transfer from the Madras High Court to the Meghalaya High Court.

Prabodh Dinkarrao Desai or P. D. Desai was a former Chief Justice of several High Courts of India. He also held the additional charge of the Governor of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh from 8 March 1986 to 16 April 1986.
