The Kuching Civic Centre Malay : Dewan Suarah Kuching) is a major landmark in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The building was officially opened on 1 August 1988 following the proclamation of Kuching as a city status.
Malay is a major language of the Austronesian family spoken in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. A language of the Malays, it is spoken by 290 million people across the Strait of Malacca, including the coasts of the Malay Peninsula of Malaysia and the eastern coast of Sumatra in Indonesia and has been established as a native language of part of western coastal Sarawak and West Kalimantan in Borneo. It is also used as a trading language in the southern Philippines, including the southern parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Sulu Archipelago and the southern predominantly Muslim-inhabited municipalities of Bataraza and Balabac in Palawan.
Kuching, officially the City of Kuching, is the capital and the most populous city in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the capital of Kuching Division. The city is situated on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo and covers an area of 431 square kilometres (166 sq mi) with a population about 165,642 in the Kuching North administrative region and 159,490 in the Kuching South administrative region—a total of 325,132 people.
Sarawak is a state of Malaysia. Rajang River is the longest river in Malaysia; Bakun Dam, one of the largest dams in Southeast Asia, is located on one of its tributaries, the Balui River. Mount Murud is the highest point in Sarawak.
The viewing platform at the top of the futuristic Civic Centre tower offers the best all-round views of Kuching and the surrounding areas. The city and its hinterland, Mount Serapi, Mount Santubong and even the mountains of Kalimantan are visible on a clear day.

The Scarborough Civic Centre is a civic centre located in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designed by architect Raymond Moriyama during the development of Scarborough City Centre and initially opened as the city hall of the former borough of Scarborough by then mayor Albert Campbell and Queen Elizabeth II in 1973. The building served as the municipal office and office for the Scarborough Board of Education. Following the amalgamation of Toronto, Scarborough lost its city status and the civic centre became a secondary hub for the City of Toronto. It is also home to the Scarborough Community Council and offices of the Toronto District School Board.
Kota Samarahan is the administrative seat of the Samarahan District in Samarahan Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located about 30 kilometers from Kuching. The district population was 157,792. Kota Samarahan is the main education hub for Sarawak State and officially known as "Town of Knowledge". The District Officer of this city is Datuk Patinggi Puan Hajah Affidatul. On January 11, 2017, Chief Minister Adenan Satem died in Sarawak Heart Hospital in this city.

The Kuching District is an administrative district within Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is subdivided into three subdistricts: Kuching Proper, Padawan and Siburan. The population of the entire District was 617,887 at the 2010 Census.
The Padawan municipality is a collective name given to a subset of the Kuching District area which is not administered locally by the Kuching South City Council and the Kuching North City Hall. It has an area of 1771.3 km2, covering the suburbs of the Kuching Proper subdistrict and the entire Siburan and Padawan subdistricts. The area is currently administered by state-based internal government, Padawan Municipal Council. Kota Padawan exists 16 kilometres south from the centre of Kuching. The Selfridges Building is a landmark building in Birmingham, England. The building is part of the Bullring Shopping Centre and houses Selfridges Department Store. The building was completed in 2003 at a cost of £60 million and designed by architecture firm Future Systems. It has a steel framework with sprayed concrete facade. Since its construction, the building has become an iconic architectural landmark and seen as a major contribution to the regeneration of Birmingham. It is included as a desktop background as part of the Architecture theme in Windows 7.
City Plus FM is Chinese business radio station to target Chinese-speaking PMEBs and SMEs in Malaysia. It is owned by Cense Media Sdn Bhd. The radio starting its trial transmission in Kuching since 24 April 2016 on FM 92.5 MHz. Another trial transmission was performed in Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan on FM 106.0 MHz by launching transmitter in Mount Telapak Burok. On 2 May 2017, the radio was officially launched in the areas, meanwhile Kuching FM 92.5 MHz were rebranded as the third radio station. Its frequency for Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan was formerly carried by Red FM before June 2009.
