Satakunta is a region of Finland, part of the former Western Finland Province. It borders the regions of Southwest Finland, Pirkanmaa, South Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. The capital city of the region is Pori. The name of the region literally means hundred. The historical province of the same name was a larger area within Finland, covering modern Satakunta as well as much of Pirkanmaa.
Porin Ässät, officially named Hockey Club Ässät Pori and colloquially known as Pata, is a professional ice hockey club based in Pori, Finland. It competes in the SM-liiga, the highest-ranking league of ice hockey in Finland. Since 1971, Ässät has played its games in the Isomäki Ice Hall.
Harjavalta is a town and municipality in Finland. It's located in the Satakunta region, 29 kilometres (18 mi) southeast of Pori. The town has a population of 6,679 and covers an area of 127.74 square kilometres (49.32 sq mi) of which 4.28 km2 (1.65 sq mi) is water. Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is a university of applied sciences in the Satakunta region of Finland. The university is headquartered in Pori and offers additional instruction in Huittinen, Kankaanpää and Rauma.
Football Club Jazz, commonly known as just Jazz, is a Finnish football club based in Pori, which plays in the Finnish third tier, Ykkönen. The club was founded in 1934 as Porin Pallo-Toverit. PPT changed its name to FC Jazz in November 1991.

Rami Määttä is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who plays for HC Ässät Pori of the Finnish Elite League and serves as the team's alternate captain. Määttä played his junior years in his local team Oulun Kärpät, but moved to the HC Ässät Pori in 2018 at the U18 level. Määttä was awarded Ässät's alternate captaincy for the 2024–25 Liiga season. He won the U20 Finnish Championship in 2024, joining Ässät's U20 squad after the men's team got eliminated from a playoff spot.
Porin Ässät was a football club from Pori, Finland. It was established in 1967 as two local sports clubs Karhut and RU-38 merged. The football section was dissolved in 1981 and today Ässät is known as an ice hockey club.
Satakunnan derby is a name used for ice hockey matchups between Porin Ässät and Rauman Lukko of the Liiga. Lukko and Ässät are placed into the same block, which means that they play six games against each other in one Liiga regular season. Both teams also participate in the annual Pitsiturnaus preseason tournament hosted by Lukko. Ässät and Lukko have met in the playoffs three times, playing a total of five games. Ässät has won all five of them.

Porin Ässät ry operates an ice hockey team in the Finnish Elite League. Porin Ässät ry also has junior teams for all age groups from U7 to U20. Porin Ässät ry also operate a women's ice hockey school and the girl's junior ice hockey department while also operating a skating school.
Patrik Juhola is a Finnish ice hockey player who is currently under a contract with Porin Ässät of the Liiga, but on a season loan at Imatran Ketterä, his contract with Ässät ends after the 2024–25 season. Juhola was selected as the best player of the month in the U20 SM-sarja in the 2021–22 season when he put up 39 points in 40 games as a 17 year old. Juhola has played 3 WJC games putting up one point.
The 1989–90 Porin Ässät season was the club's first and only season in the I-Divisioona and the second highest league in Finland. Ässät was relegated after the previous SM-liiga season. Ässät crushed I-Divisioona records and was promoted back to the SM-liiga after just one season.
Porin Kiekko-Salamat (Ki-Sa) was an ice hockey club located in Pori, Finland. The team was the continuation of the Musan Salama ice hockey section that folded in 1972.
