[5] [6] It is marked Ankush's 25th film of his career.

Sankha Ghosh from The Times of India wrote that "‘Kurban’ delves into far more intense and complex roles for both actors, aiming to showcase their prowess and depth in performance. Unlike their earlier light-hearted roles, this film explores profound human themes, offering a riveting look into the complexities of humanity and mankind". [11] Bongo Banjo wrote that "The cinematography, editing, and colour gradation, while deemed average, serve the storyline effectively. The sparse use of background music, as suggested by the trailer, complements the narrative, allowing the story to take centre stage". [12] Sangbad Pratidin wrote:
There is nothing new in the story. Because so many times in different languages such stories have been arranged on the plates of the audience. The surprise element of the movie is definitely Ankush's look and performance. However, the frames of several scenes in the movie have been given the photographic treatment. They deserve praise. If the length of the movie was a little shorter, the tension would have been maintained. Kanchan Mallick's character is one of the shades of the story but very weak treatment. However, it should be noted that the two songs of the movie 'Ek Anjhla Jyotsna' and 'Dur Dur' were not bad to listen to. [13]
