Shantilal Mukherjee is an Indian actor associated with Bengali-language theatre and films. [1] [2]

Biography

Mukherjee was born in Kolkata. He lost his father in an early age. He was admitted in Sarsuna High School from where he passed Madhyamik examination. He passed Higher Secondary Examination from New Alipore Multipurpose High School. He graduated from the Asutosh College, a University of Calcutta affiliate. [2]

Mukherjee is mainly knowns as a stage actor. Ramaprasad Banik and Chandan Sen taught him acting. [2] His son's name is Rwitobroto Mukherjee who is also an actor.

Koushik Sen is an Indian actor in film, television and theatre, based in Kolkata. He is the director of the theatre group Swapnasandhani. He won a Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award for best supporting actor for his performance in the Mrinal Sen directed film Aamar Bhuvan. He was awarded Girish Purashkar 2023 by the Cultural Department of the Government of West Bengal for his extraordinary contributions to theatre. This year he was also awarded Telly Academy Best Actor Award for Godhuli Alap series.

Byomkesh was a 2014 Indian Bengali crime fiction television series based on the Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The series starred Gaurav Chakrabarty, Saugata Bandyopadhyay and Ridhima Ghosh as Byomkesh Bakshi, Ajit and Satyabati respectively. The series premiered on 20 November 2014 on Colors Bangla channel and ended on 14 November 2015. This series is re-runned on 4 March 2024. The first episode was narrated by Sabyasachi Chakrabarty.

This is the fourth installment of the Byomkesh series by Anjan Dutt. The film is based on Kohen Kobi Kalidas by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. Unlike the previous three installments, Jisshu Sengupta portrayed the character Bakshi in this film, replacing Abir Chatterjee.

Sujan Mukherjee is an Indian actor who works in Bengali language films, television and theatre. In 2012 he made his directorial debut with the film Ghete Gho. He is an active Member of the renowned Theatre Group Chetana. On 22 February 2016 his directorial debut, in the field of Theatre, Ghashiram Kotwal, which is an adaptation on Marathi play, was premiered. In 2018 he directed Don: Taake Bhalo Laage an adaptation of Dale Wasserman's Don Quixote which was translated into Bengali by Arun Mukhopadhyay many years back. This play marked the re-entry of Suman Mukhopadhyay as an actor after 25 years.

The storyline of the film is based on the story, Chotur Goyenda Choturabhijan, by Sasthipada Chattopathyay, and follows a group of kids led by Goenda Tatar, who are dragged into a kidnapping case. The film was theatrically released on 4 January 2019.
