Bijon Bhattacharya was an Indian theatre and film actor from West Bengal.
Bengali theatre primarily refers to theatre performed in the Bengali language. Bengali theatre is produced mainly in West Bengal, and in Bangladesh. The term may also refer to some Hindi theatres which are accepted by the Bengali people.

Lakkhichhara is a rock band, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The band was formed in 1999. This band initially started playing professionally in college fests, hotels and pubs. In 2001 they recorded their debut album. The album was not commercially successful but some major hits like "Care Korina" and "Shudhu Chai Tomay" were featured on radio channels in Kolkata. In December 2001, the lead vocalist Sayak Bandopadhyay left the band. Subhajit Mukherjee joined the band after he met the band in a school fest, and showed interest in working with them. In 2003 they recorded their second studio album - Jibon Chaichhe Aro Besi. In 2004, Rishabh Ray joined the band and later recorded a new album in 2005 named Eka, the album was a huge success. Lead guitarist Nilanjan, departed for personal commitments, and was replaced by Bua soon after. He rejoined the band in 2012 as Sujay bid goodbye. Subhajit shifted to Mumbai to try the possibilities in the national scene which paved way for Sayak to rejoin the band. They have now become one of the most sought after and highest paid Bengali bands of Kolkata. The members of the band appeared as judges on Hau Mau Khau - a game show on Zee Bangla TV, Band-E-Mataram, and "Rock Idols" along with numerous college fests. They are currently busy recording for their next album, which promises to be very interesting venture because that would contain some of the old but memorable songs that would be arranged and performed quite differently.
Khaled Choudhury was a theatre personality and artist of Bengal. He worked for various directors of both Bengali and Hindi plays, including Sombhu Mitra, Tripti Mitra, and Shyamanand Jalan in various capacities — creating the Stage, sets and costumes and later as Music Director. He was a bachelor. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to theatre in India's Republic Day Honours List on 26 January 2012. He died on 30 April 2014 in Kolkata.
Bohurupee is a Bengali premier theatre group. Bohurupee was founded in 1948 by several active members who left the Indian People's Theatre Association. The group was created to present the experimental Bengali drama in unusual form.

Riddhi Sen is an Indian Bengali actor. He is a regular actor of the theatre group Swapnasandhani and was a student of South Point school, Kolkata. In 2010, he received a special talent award from his school for his achievements in the field of theatre. He is the youngest actor in India to win the National Film Award for Best Actor for the film Nagarkirtan. In 2019, Film Companion ranked Sen's performance in Nagarkirtan among 100 Greatest Performances of the decade.
Nabanna is a Bengali language drama written by Bijon Bhattacharya and staged by the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) in 1944 under the direction of Bijon Bhattacharya and Sombhu Mitra and later, in 1948, by Bohurupee under the direction of Kumar Roy. The play is about the Bengal famine of 1943. The Bengal IPTA took the play to many parts of India as a part of its festival, Voice of Bengal, and it became a major success and collected lakhs of rupees for famine relief in rural Bengal.

Biley or Bilay is a 2012 Bengali drama created by Bengali theatre group Lokkrishti, This is a dramatisation of the life and works of Swami Vivekananda. Debshankar Haldar played the lead role. Phalguni Chattopadhyay directed this drama and Ujjwal Chattopadhyay was the playwright.
Meghnad Bhattacharya is a Bengali theatre director and actor. He is the artistic director of Bengali theatre group Sayak. He has also acted in few Bengali films and television serials. In 1979 under the leadership of Bhattacharya and SayakBijon Theatre was established.

His first successful theatre production was Debi Sarpamasta, written by Manoj Mitra, directed by Debesh Chattopadhyay. In 2015, he started his film career with the Zee Bangla telefim Kader Kuler Bou. He got fame for his character as Bishan Roy from the film Eagoler Chokh. For playing this role, he was picked up as the Filmfare Awards East for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2017. In 2019, He got his first Best Actor Award for the role of Nikhilesh Chowdhury from the movie Ghawre Bairey Aaj which was immensely praised by critics and audiences.
Koushik Kar is an Indian (Bengali) actor, theatre director. He started his professional acting in the year 2010 as a Minerva Repertory Theatre actor, in kolkata. His first performance was in the play Raja Lear (2010) in which the celebrated Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee was in the lead. His work Ma Ak Nirbhik Sainik (2013) as a director and actor was officially selected in 17th Bharat Rang Mahotsav, 2015. His direction and acting in various plays over the years rendered him as a well known theatre personality in contemporary Bengali theatre community and audiences.
Prakritir Pratisodh is a Bengali drama by Rabindranath Tagore written in 1884. In his memoirs, Tagore described the play's themes as "an introduction to the whole of my future literary work; or, rather this has been the subject on which all my writings have dwelt—the joy of attaining the Infinite within the finite." Though an early work, Tagore considered it mature enough to be included in the first volume of his collected poetry.
