Lucky Enam (born September 14, 1952) [1] is a Bangladeshi television and theatre personality. [2] [3] She was awarded Ekushey Padak by the government of Bangladesh in 2019. [4] She is the current chairperson of Bangladesh Shishu Academy since September 2019. [5]

Background

Enam was born on September 14, 1952, in Rangpur to Kalimullah Bhuiyan and Mohua. [1] She completed her SSC from SV Girls' School and HSC from Comilla Women's College. [1] She then earned her bachelor's and master's in economics from the University of Chittagong and University of Dhaka respectively. [1]

Career

Enam began performing in 1972 by joining the theater troupe Nagorik Natya Sampradaya. [6] She first appeared in a dual role in the play Anubhabe Anubhutee with Pijush Bandyopadhyay in 1987. Her notable roles include Kona in Sharoma, Ambia in Nuruldiner Sarajibon, Ms. Esha in Bohubrihi and Boro Bou in Ayomoy . [6]

Enam is the co-founder and general secretary of the theatre troupe Nagorik Nattyangan. [4] [7] She directed several stage plays including Ami Birangana Bolchi, Sharoma, Pragoitihashik, Sheishob Dinguli, Bideha, Muktir Upaye and Kritodasher Hashi. [8] [9] [10] [11] She also directed television drama serials Amader Ananda Bari, based on Enamul Huq's novel Greehobashi Galpo and Shesh Rakkha. [12] [13]

In 2012, Nagorik Nattyangan and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy arranged a six-day theatre festival to celebrate the 60th birthday of Enam at the National Theatre Hall, Dhaka. [14]

Personal life

Enam was married to actor, theatre activist and academic Enamul Huq. Together they had two daughters – Hridi Huq and Proitee Huq. [15]

Abul Hayat is a Bangladeshi actor. He is also a writer, civil engineer and director. He earned Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Daruchini Dwip (2007) and was awarded Ekushey Padak for his acting in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh. He portrayed the Misir Ali character in the television film, Onno Bhuboner Cheleta.

Abu Taher Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, better known as known as ATM Shamsuzzaman, was a Bangladeshi film and television actor, director and screen-playwright. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards five times for his roles in Dayee Ke? (1987), Madam Fuli (1999), Churiwala (2001), Mon Bosena Porar Table E (2009) and Chorabali (2012).

Enamul Haque, sometimes Enamul Huq, was a Bangladeshi actor, academician and playwright. He acted in stage, television and film mediums. He was a professor at the Department of Chemistry of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2012 by the government of Bangladesh for his contribution to fine arts.

Khaled Khan was a Bangladeshi actor. He posthumous won the Ekushey Padak in 2022 for his contribution to the field of acting. He was often referred to as Juboraj by the contemporary theater personalities. He won Shilpakala Padak in 2013.

Amjad Hossain was a Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992.

Rawshan Ara Mustafiz is a Bangladeshi singer of Nazrul Sangeet genre. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2006 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Hridi Haq is a theater and television actress, playwright and director from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She made her directorial debut with government-granted film, "1971 Shei Shob Din", which depicts the gripping narrative of Bangladesh's Liberation War. Hridi Huq is noted as the Organizing Secretary of Nagorik Nattyangon and Executive Member of Bangladesh Group Theater Federation. In 2018, she became the Joint General Secretary of Director's Guild for consecutive second term.

Nagorik Natya Sampradaya is a Bangladeshi theatre company. Established in 1968, it was the first theatre group in Dhaka and started performing plays on stage in 1972. The chairperson of the group is the actor and director Aly Zaker and his wife, actress Sara Zaker, is the vice-chairperson. As of December 2018, Nagorik had performed 46 different productions.

M Hamid is a Bangladeshi dramatist and theatre personality. He served as the director general of Bangladesh Television from March 2012 until April 2014. He is a former chief executive officer of RTV, a Bangladeshi satellite television channel. He served as the founding president of the theatrical group Natyachakra.

Zeenat Barkatullah was a Bangladeshi dancer and television actress. She received Bachsas Awards, Bangladesh Cultural Society Lifetime Achievement Award and Natyashabha Award for her contributions to the field of dance.
