Plot

The parents of Bikram succumb to a road accident, leaving the 16-year old devastated and depressed. A year later, he is living with uncle and aunt, reading detective stories. His dream is to solve crimes like those he reads about fictional detectives like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. His uncle, Barun, works with the police to investigate cases. One day, Bikram goes to his uncle's office and is spotted by Sanjay, the senior police detective, for his keen observation skills. Sanjay's daughter Tuki is the secrete crush of Bikram. Smart Bikram gets drawn into the world of espionage when the murder of a high-profile person comes to light. He begins to assist Sanjay with the investigation that seems to be a 'perfect crime' where the murder seems to appear as a natural death. [6] [7]

In this film Saswata Chatterjee plays the character of Nilkantha Bagchi and Ananya Chatterjee plays the role of Durga, Nilkantha's wife. The film was released on 14 June 2013. Besides giving an account of Ghatak's life, the film also depicts the socio-political environment of contemporary West Bengal during the Tebhaga and Naxalite movements.

Mainak Bhaumik is a Bengali film director and editor. He made his directorial debut with 2006 Bengali film Aamra.In 2012, he made another Bengali film Bedroom, a dark ensemble film about the new generation of young Indians. Proloy is a 2013 Indian Bengali crime thriller film written and directed by Raj Chakraborty, produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, starring Mimi Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, and Paran Bandopadhyay. This movie is inspired on the life of Barun Biswas, a social activist and teacher. The film's music is by Indraadip Dasgupta in his second collaboration with Banerjee, with 2 additional tracks by Nilesh Dasgupta. The film was critically and commercially well received and the performances along with the direction was praised. Due to multiple creative differences, this was Sonali Banerjee's last film with Shree Venkatesh Films. Sonali Banerjee named the film Roshni after her sister who was raped and killed and said that the movie was a tribute to her. Break Up Story is a Bengali web series released on 24 July 2020 on the Bengali OTT platform. The entire series has been shot during the lockdown period during the COVID-19 situation. The series is directed by Mainak Bhaumik. After the release of Bornoporichoy and Goyenda Junior in 2019, Mainak Bhaumik made his debut in the Bengali web series as a director through Break Up Story. The series features Anindita Bose, Saurav Das, Sauraseni Maitra, Tuhina Das, Sohini Sarkar, Ranojoy Bishnu, Aryann Bhowmik, Chandrayee Ghosh and Alivia Sarkar.

<i>The Eken</i> 2022 Indian Bengali film

The Eken is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language detective crime film directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. The film is produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. In the film, Anirban Chakrabarti plays the titular role of Ekenbabu, a fictional detective created by the Bengali author, Sujan Dasgupta. Padmanabha Dasgupta has written the screenplay for the film. The film was a commercial as well as a critical success. It released in theatres on 14 April, 2022 and despite clashing with K.G.F: Chapter 2, it was well received by the audience and had a great run at the box office.

Mini is a 2022 Bengali-language drama film directed by Mainak Bhaumik. The film is produced by Rahul Bhanja and Sampurna Lahiri. It was released on 6 May 2022.
