Helsinki is the capital, primate, and most populous city of Finland. Denmark sent a delegation to compete at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria from 29 January to 9 February 1964. This was Denmark's fourth time participating in a Winter Olympic Games. The Danish delegation consisted of two athletes, cross-country skier Svend Carlsen and speed skater Kurt Stille. Carlsen placed outside the top 50 in both his events. Stille finished 9th in the men's 10,000 meters, the best performance by a Danish athlete at these Games.
Ringette is a non-contact winter team sport played on ice hockey rinks using ice hockey skates, straight sticks with drag-tips, and a blue, rubber, pneumatic ring designed for use on ice surfaces. The sport is among a small number of organized team sports created exclusively for female competitors. Though ice hockey rinks are used, ringette rinks use markings specific to ringette and the sport uses strategic play which more closely resembles basketball than ice hockey.

Matti Mattsson is a Finnish swimmer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's 200 metre breaststroke, finishing in 17th place overall in the heats and failing to qualify for the semifinals. In Barcelona at the 2013 Swimming World Championships, he won bronze medal in Men's 200 metre breaststroke. He has qualified to represent Finland at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Men's 200 metre breaststroke.
Curt Göran Schauman is a Finnish actor and former sailor who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was born into a Swedish-speaking family in Helsinki, and his father Runar Schauman was also an actor. In 1992, Schauman was awarded the Pro Finlandia medal.
Tuula Tenkanen is a Finnish sailor, who specialized in one-person dinghy class. She represented her nation Finland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Mirage 38 is a 2013 novel by Finnish author Kjell Westö. It won the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 2014. The novel tells about Helsinki in 1938.
Daniel Ståhl is a Swedish athlete specialising in the discus throw. Ståhl has crowned a fine career winning gold medals both 2019 at the World Championships and 2021 in Tokyo at the Olympic Games.
