Kushtia Municipal Museum is a museum located in Kushtia city. The museum started its journey on 24 December 1997. Prasanta Chatterjee, the then Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, inaugurated the museum. Earlier the museum was the kachari house of zamindar Satish Saha of Kushtia. [1]

The museum is located in the Kushtia Municipality office in the Majampur area of Kushtia City. of building-

History

The museum was formerly the Kachari house of Satish Saha. He used to conduct his zamindari activities here. The building was built during the British period but the exact year of construction is not known. The building was used as the office of Kushtia Municipality from 1966-1997. The museum was established in the building on 24 December 1997.

Structure of the museum building

The museum building is single storeyed. The building is built in European architecture. However, the design of the crown and parapet above the pediment of the building is Indian style

Collection

The museum has paper currency of 15 countries, British period of India , Mughal and Sultanate period metal coins, terracotta artefacts, terracotta plaques used in the decoration of various temples, black granite stone Krishnamurti, small twin idols, a black stone plate and a pot. A century-old calling bell, a cast-stone jaanta, a pocket watch, a haman dasta, an old computer, several newspapers of Bangladesh's independence war and a total of 32 bound photographs of famous people of Kushtia district are housed in the museum.

The Puthia Temple Complex consists of a cluster of notable old Hindu temples in Puthia Upazila, Rajshahi District, Bangladesh. Located 23 km to the east of Rajshahi city, it has the largest number of historic temples in Bangladesh. The temples were built by Hindu Zamindars Rajas of the Puthia Raj family who were noted philanthropists of Rajshahi. The temples have been built in terracotta in a variety of styles combining the typical Jor-bangla architecture with other influences. The Rajbari or Palace of the Raja of Puthia and the Dol Mancha are part of the complex. The temples are laid out around a lake named Shyam Sagar and the complex is surrounded by a moat called Shiv Sagar.

Puthia Rajbari is a palace in Puthia Upazila, Rajshahi District in Bangladesh. It was built in 1895, by Maharani Hemanta Kumari Devi in the memory of her mother-in-law Maharani Saratsundari Devi, it is an example of Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture. The palace is sited on the Rajshahi Natore highway 30 km from the east of the town and one km south from Rajshahi Natore highway. Kushtia High School is an old secondary school located in Kushtia city of Kushtia District. The school was established in 1861. The chief grandfather of the property of this school is Debendranath Tagore, the zamindar of Shilaidah.

Kushtia Municipal Building or Kushtia Paur Bhavan is a palatial building located in the Kushtia city. Earlier it was the zamindar house of Satish Saha. Since 1966, the building has been used as the office of the Kushtia Municipality.

Shilaidaha Kachharibari is place where the Tagore family's zamindari activities were conducted. This Kachharibari was built in 1892. This kachari house is also known as Rabindra Kachharibari.

<i>Bijoy Ullas</i> Building in Kushtia, Bangladesh

Bijoy Ullas is a sculpture related to the Bangladesh Liberation War located in Kushtia. The construction of the sculpture started in 1995 at the initiative of Kushtia Municipality to commemorate the victory of the Liberation War.
