"Kwarikwa" is a song by the Nigerian singer Flavour. It was released as the lead single from his third studio album, Blessed (2012), and features vocals by Congolese singer Fally Ipupa. "Kwarikwa" is a love song with an uptempo beat. [1]

Background and release

"Kwarikwa" was co-written by Flavour and Fally Ipupa and produced by Masterkraft. The song originally appeared on Flavour's second studio album, Uplifted (2010). Flavour and his management decided to make a remix of "Kwarikwa" after the success of the original song.

Music video

The music video for "Kwarikwa" was shot and directed in the United States by Godfather Production. Fally Ipupa's scenes were shot in a studio, while the rest of the video was shot at residential locations. Masterkraft made a cameo appearance in the video. [2]

Controversy surrounding the original version

A legal dispute between Flavour and the Ghanaian duo Wutah over the purported theft of "Kwarikwa" was reported by Nigeria Entertainment Today on August 29, 2012. As stated in the article, Wutah's song "Kotosa" was imitated in "Kwarikwa". The duo accused Flavour of stealing their song's rhythm, chorus and tempo. [3]

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. The 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards took place on 31 August 2014, at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The eligibility period was from March 2013 to March 2014. In April 2014, the NEA reviewing committee began collecting submissions for the 2014 edition. The deadline for submission was April 30, 2014, and the nominations were announced on May 29, 2014. Tiwa Savage and Davido received the most nominations with 5 each. Don Jazzy, Flavour N'abania and Wizkid all got four nominations each, while Olamide, Patoranking, Chidinma and Oritse Femi followed closely with three nominations.

The Ascension is the sixth studio album by Nigerian singer 2face Idibia. Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike, who is known professionally as Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. Phyno was born and raised in Enugu State but is a native of Anambra State. Igbo highlife is a contemporary musical genre which combines highlife and Igbo traditional music. It first started off in the southeast region of Nigeria, during the 1920s. The genre is primarily guitar-based music, with a rare characteristic blend of horns and vocal rhythms. Igbo highlife lyrics are sung mostly in Igbo with occasional infusion of Pidgin English. One of the most influential composers and performers of the music is Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe whose career spanned over 40 years. Osadebe's discography comprises numerous popular songs including the 1984 hit "Osondi Owendi" which launched him on the world stage as a pioneer of the Igbo highlife genre.

Tokooos is the fourth studio album by Congolese singer Fally Ipupa. It was released on July 7, 2017, by Elektra France, Warner Music France.
