Kyle K. Lofton (born May 31, 1999) is an American basketball player for Kouvot in the Finnish Korisliiga. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators and St. Bonaventure Bonnies.

High school career

Raised in Hillside, New Jersey, Lofton attended Union Catholic Regional High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, receiving no NCAA Division I scholarship offers. [1] He played a postgraduate season for Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut and helped his team win its first National Prep Championship. [2] [3] He committed to playing college basketball for St. Bonaventure over offers from UMass, Quinnipiac and Robert Morris. [4] He joined the program with his high school teammate Osun Osunniyi. [5]

College career

On February 17, 2019, Lofton recorded a freshman season-high 32 points and seven assists in a 79–56 win over George Mason. [6] Three days later, he scored 18 points, including a game-winning pull-up jump shot with 10.7 remaining, in a 62–60 victory over La Salle. [7] As a freshman, he averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game, earning Atlantic 10 All-Rookie and All-Tournament honors. [8] On December 30, Lofton posted a sophomore season-high 32 points, eight assists and five rebounds in an 84–79 loss to Buffalo. [9] As a sophomore, he averaged 14.1 points, six assists and 2.6 rebounds per game and was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. [10] On January 2, 2021, Lofton made a game-winning three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left as part of a 16-point performance in a 69–66 win over Richmond. [11] As a junior, Lofton averaged 14.4 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. [12] He repeated on the First Team All-Atlantic 10. [13] As a senior, Lofton was named to the Third Team All-Atlantic 10. [14]

On May 13, 2022, Lofton transferred to Florida as a graduate student. [15]

Professional career

Loft on went undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft. He began his professional career with Kouvot in Finland.

The Bonnies compete in the National Collegiate Athletics Association's Division I Atlantic 10 Conference, of which it has been a member since 1979. The programs' mascot is the Bona Wolf and the colors are brown and white.

Demitrius Conger is an American professional basketball player for Rapid București of the Liga Națională. A Brooklyn native, Conger applied his trade throughout Europe following his college career with St. Bonaventure and arrived in Australia to join the Illawarra Hawks in 2017 following four years of playing professionally in the Dominican Republic, Italy, Greece, Israel and Belgium. He returned to Europe in 2018 after claiming All-NBL First Team honors, playing in Spain and France before returning to Australia to join the 36ers.

The 2017–18 St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team represented St. Bonaventure University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bonnies, led by 11th-year head coach Mark Schmidt, played their home games at the Reilly Center in Olean, New York as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 26–8, 14–4 in A-10 play to finish in second place. They defeated Richmond in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament before losing in the semifinals to Davidson. They received one of the last four at-large bids to the NCAA tournament where they defeated UCLA in the First Four before losing in the first round to Florida.

Tim Kenney is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball coach. Kenney served as athletic director at St. Bonaventure University from 2015 to 2021. He previously served as assistant athletic director at Stony Brook University from 1997 to 2004, and as associate athletic director at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2004 to 2015. Kenney attended college at the University at Buffalo, where he was an All-American breaststroker on the Buffalo Bulls swimming team. Kenney credits his swimming career success to his mentor, Stewart ‘Clams’ Karp, who he trained with during his youth in Dix Hills, Long Island. Kenney later served as an assistant basketball coach on the Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team from 1995 to 1996, prior to beginning his career in athletic administration. Kenney was named athletic director at St. Bonaventure University on March 10, 2015. Kenney left St. Bonaventure on May 31, 2021, when his contract expired and was not renewed.

In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Bonnies finished the season 16–5, 11–4 in A-10 play to win the regular season A-10 championship. They defeated Duquesne, Saint Louis, and VCU to win the A-10 tournament. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 9 seed in the East region. There they lost to LSU in the first round.

The 2021–22 St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team represented St. Bonaventure University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bonnies, led by 15th-year head coach Mark Schmidt, played their home games at the Reilly Center in Olean, New York as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 23–10, 12–5 in A-10 play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament to Saint Louis. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Colorado, Oklahoma, and Virginia to advance to the semifinals. There they lost to Xavier.

Joe Manhertz is the current director of athletics for St. Bonaventure University. He previously served as associate athletic director at Duke University from 2010 to 2021, and in various administrative roles at the Ohio State University, Hamilton College, Syracuse University, and Colgate University. Manhertz grew up in Fairport, New York, and attended college at Colgate University, where he played college football and college basketball on the school's football and basketball teams. Manhertz was named athletic director at St. Bonaventure University on August 19, 2021.
