Kyliegh Curran (born December 10, 2005) is an American actress. She starred in the horror film Doctor Sleep and played Harper on the Disney Channel mystery series Secrets of Sulphur Springs . She previously played young Nala in a Broadway production of The Lion King .
Curran was born in Miami, Florida on December 10, 2005. [1] Her maternal grandfather is the Bahamian-American writer and scholar Whittington B. Johnson. [2]
She started taking acting classes at seven years old. [3] She moved to New York City for her career. [4] Through first and second grades, Curran practiced theater at an Actors' Playhouse conservatory close to the Broadway theatre area. [5] Curran, not finding film-related opportunities in Miami and New York, started attending the British Academy of Performing Arts in Marietta, Georgia and the Renaissance International School of Performing Arts in Milton, Georgia. [5] As part of growing up with an acting career, she is homeschooled. [3]
Curran's first show was Madeline's Christmas in Coral Gables, Florida. [5] When she was 10 years old, she was cast as Young Nala in Julie Taymor's Broadway production of The Lion King . [2] In 2015, she was cast in her first film role in the independent film I Can I Will I Did, which was released in 2017. [6] While living in Georgia, she auditioned for the Stephen King-based horror film Doctor Sleep and was cast in a leading role opposite Ewan McGregor playing Abra, a girl with psychic powers. [5] Following Doctor Sleep, she began work on the Disney Channel series Secrets of Sulphur Springs playing Harper. [4] [7]
Living in Atlanta, Curran works with the organizations Girls, Inc. and Reach Out and Read Georgia. She is also involved with environmental issues. [7]

The Lion King is a 1994 American animated musical coming-of-age drama film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution under the Walt Disney Pictures banner. The film was directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff and produced by Don Hahn, from a screenplay written by Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, and Linda Woolverton. The film features an ensemble voice cast that includes Matthew Broderick, Moira Kelly, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Niketa Calame, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Rowan Atkinson, and Robert Guillaume. Its original songs were written by composer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, with a score by Hans Zimmer. Inspired by African wildlife, the story is modelled primarily on William Shakespeare's stage play Hamlet with some influence from the Biblical stories of Joseph and Moses, and follows a young heir apparent who is forced to flee after his uncle kills his father and usurps the throne. After growing up in exile, the rightful king returns to challenge the usurper and end his tyrannical rule over the kingdom.
Moira Kelly is an American actress. She is known for portraying Kate Moseley in the 1992 film The Cutting Edge as well as single mother Karen Roe on the teen drama One Tree Hill. She is also known for playing the role of Donna Hayward in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, replacing Lara Flynn Boyle in the prequel to the 1990 TV series Twin Peaks. Other roles include Dorothy Day in Entertaining Angels: The Dorothy Day Story, White House media consultant Mandy Hampton in the first season of The West Wing, and the adult voice of Simba's love interest Nala in The Lion King and its direct-to-video sequels The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1½. Wicked is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is a loose adaptation of the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which in turn is based on L. Nala is a fictional character in Disney's The Lion King franchise. "Shadowland" is a song written by Lebo M, Hans Zimmer, and Mark Mancina for the musical The Lion King (1997), a stage adaptation of Disney's 1994 animated feature film of the same name. Based on the song "Lea Halalela ", a track featured on Lebo's Lion King-inspired concept album Rhythm of the Pride Lands (1995), Lebo composed the track with Zimmer, while both Lebo and Mancina contributed new lyrics to its melody. Lebo based the song's lyrics on his own experiences having been exiled from South Africa during apartheid, therefore imbuing "Shadowland" with themes about refugeeism and survival.
