LNK is a commercial television channel operating in Lithuania. It is a free-to-air TV channel targeted towards a Lithuanian audience. It mainly broadcasts local entertainment, dubbed movies, lifestyle shows and news.

History

LNK was launched on 5 May 1995 and mainly retransmitted Russian programs from ORT (Now Channel One Russia). In 1996, they were replaced by original content. In 2012, LNK switched to Digital television. LNK shows mostly Lithuanian shows, series and more.

In November 2018, LNK launched a high-definition channel, LNK HD. [2]

Before the independence from the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1990, Lithuanian print media sector served mainly as a propaganda instrument of the Communist Party of Lithuania (LKP). Alternative and uncontrolled press began to appear in the country starting from 1988, when the Initiative Group of the Reform Movement of Lithuania Sąjūdis was established. Alanas Chošnau is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter of Lithuanian and Iraqi Kurdish origin. In 1992 – 2001 and 2014 – 2018 he was the frontman of the band Naktinės Personos. In 2001 – 2009 and since 2019 Chošnau successfully develops solo career. He owns the 'Best Performer of the Year', 'Best Song', 'Best Video', 'Golden Disc' national awards. Chošnau is continuously named as one of the most played and most performing artists of Lithuania.

Aš matau tavo balsą is a Lithuanian television mystery music game show based on the South Korean programme of the same name. It premiered on LNK on 13 March 2022 before moving to its sister station BTV on 30 April 2022.

Nekviesta meilė was a Lithuanian TV soap opera series. Its director was Alvydas Šlepikas assisted by Saulius Balandis and Kristina Kunčinaitė. It run for 4 seasons during 2007–2009 on the LNK TV channel.
