Ren and Stimpy are once again hosts of the nature show Untamed World. The duo go looking for the Lummox in the land of Ignoramia. The duo find a Red-Freckled Lummox, which is merely an obese, slovenly American teenager with red freckles who loves to eat junk food. The duo befriend the Lummox by giving him food. The duo watch the "mating ritual" of the Lummox as the Killer Kowalski character first introduced in Fake Dad whom Ren and Stimpy call the Tree Lummox competes with the Red-Freckled Lummox to win the love of a female Lummox, who is merely an obese woman.
The episode was written in 1992 for the second season of The Ren & Stimpy Show at the Spumco studio. [1] The episode was approved, but much of the more vulgar humor was censored by the Nickelodeon network. [1] Furthermore, the showrunner, John Kricfalusi wanted to expand Lair of Lummox for half an hour, which further delayed the episode. [2] When the Spümcø studio lost the contract for The Ren & Stimpy Show on 21 September 1992, the episode was taken over by the Games Animation studio, which held it for the third season due to production delays. [3]
