The Lan Onari ( Basque for 'For the Good Work') award is a civil medal awarded in the Basque Country, Spain. It is awarded by the Basque Government to Basques "who have extraordinarily distinguished themselves due to their dedication, constancy, and innovative spirit in their field of work". It is the second highest distinction awarded by the Basque Government. [1]

The Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas or National Prize for Spanish Literature is one of several National Prizes awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. First awarded in 1984, it recognises an author's literary career. The prize is 40,000 euros.

The National Literature Prize for Narrative is a prize awarded by Spain's Ministry of Culture for a novel written by a Spanish author in any of the languages of Spain. The prize is 20,000 euros.

The Menéndez Pelayo International Prize has been awarded since 1987 by the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) with the objective of honoring those persons whose literary or scientific work has a humanistic orientation and application, in the tradition of the University's namesake Marcelino Menéndez y Pelayo. It was established with the generous support of Eulalio Ferrer, a Spanish-Mexican entrepreneur and academician. Citizens of any Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking country are eligible. Barcelona International Comic Fair is an annual fair and convention of authors, publishers and comic readers, managed by FICOMIC. It takes place in the city of Barcelona since 1981, and is an event of reference on the Spanish comic market.

The Felipe Trigo Awards are annual literary honors created in 1981 on the initiative of the City Council of Villanueva de la Serena, Spain. On 24 November 1980, the Municipal Assembly agreed to institute it as a tribute to the writer Felipe Trigo, born in the city in 1864.

The Critical Eye Awards were created in 1990 by the Radio Nacional de España (RNE) program El Ojo Crítico. They recognize and promote the work of young talents, under 40 years of age, who have distinguished themselves in the preceding year in the modalities of plastic arts, narrative, poetry, film, theater, classical music, modern music, and dance. Since 1997, RNE has also presented the Special Critical Eye Award for an outstanding career. The Ibero-American Critical Eye Award has been presented biennially since 2014.

The Lagun Onari award is a civil decoration awarded in the Basque Country, Spain. It is awarded by the Basque Government to non-Basque people and entities "who have benefited significantly the Basque Country or its economy, or have increased the public awareness of Basque history and culture abroad". It is the third highest distinction awarded by the Basque Government. People are awarded a medal, while entities are awarded a plaque.

The National Award for Literature in the Poetry Category has been presented annually by the Ministry of Culture of Spain since 1977.
