The Laois Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Laois GAA clubs. The Laois County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1888.
Clough–Ballacolla are the title holders, defeating Rathdowney–Errill by 2-22 to 0-22 in the 2024 final. [1]
The trophy presented to the winners is the Bob O'Keefe Cup.
The winners of the Laois Senior Championship qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship. They often do well there and Clough–Ballacolla were in the 2021 Leinster Final after winning the Laois Senior Hurling Championship. [2] The winners can, in turn, go on to play in the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship.

This competition has existed in various guises since 1995. [20] It was originally played as the Dick Palmer Cup up to 2009, then became a competition ancillary to the main championship. In the earlier years, clubs would qualify for the Senior B by not reaching a certain stage of the main competition.
Since 2010, it has been a proper Tier2 competition, with promotion/relegation to/from the Senior Hurling Championship and from 2015, it has been called the Senior A Hurling Championship.

County Laois is a county in Ireland. It is part of the Eastern and Midland Region and in the province of Leinster. It was known as Queen's County from 1556 to 1922. The modern county takes its name from Loígis, a medieval kingdom. Historically, it has also been known as County Leix.
Camross GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and Gaelic football club based near Coolrain in County Laois, Ireland.
Clough–Ballacolla is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Laois, Ireland. The colour of the club jersey is all blue with a gold band.
Castletown GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling club in County Laois, Ireland.
Portlaoise GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) affiliated hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club based in Portlaoise, the county town of Laois in Ireland.

William Hyland is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He is the current manager of the Clough–Ballacolla team, having also played for the club. Hyland also lined out at various inter-county levels with Laois.
The 2014 Loais Senior Hurling Championship was the 121st staging of the Laois Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Laois County Board in 1888. The championship began on 19 July 2014 and ended on 28 September 2014. Camross were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Rathdowney–Errill on a score line of 1–20 to 0–1 in the final.

The 2020 Laois Senior Hurling Championship was the 127th of the Laois Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Laois County Board in 1888. The championship was scheduled to begin in April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games. The championship eventually began on 31 July 2020 and, after being suspended once again on 5 October 2020, eventually ended on 14 August 2021.
