Lars-Henrik Paarup Michelsen (born 23 April 1981) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was leader of the party's youth wing,Young Liberals of Norway,from 2003 to 2007.
He served as deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Hordaland during the term 2005–2009.
Michelsen hails from Austevoll municipality in Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. He has studied comparative politics at the University of Bergen. For one year he worked as a volunteer for the Strømme Foundation in Uganda. He has served his civilian service for Bergen Turlag,a member organization of the Norwegian Trekking Association.
Between 2002-2003 Michelsen was the international secretary for the Young Liberals. In 2006 he was a youth delegate to the United Nations General Assembly. He has previously been a candidate for the Storting,the last time in 2009 when he was second candidate,following Lars Sponheim.
As leader of Young Liberals of Norway Michelsen supported the entry of Norway into the European Union,although the parent party did not. [1] As of 2005 [update] ,Michelsen worked towards modernising the Young Liberals by introducing blogging,house-visiting and telephone-calling to get a more direct contact with the politicians. These methods are not yet considered normal for political parties in Norway.
As of February 2010 [update] he is also the leader of the cross political campaign Stopp Datalagringsdirektivet (fighting to reject EU's Data Retention Directive) and works for the Norwegian Data Inspectorate.
Michelsen was elected to the board of the Norwegian branch of the World Federalist Movement (Norwegian :Én Verden) in 2010. [2]
Lars Sponheim is a Norwegian politician. He was leader of the Liberal Party from 1996 to 2010. He was a member of the Storting from 1993 to 2009,and a government minister from 1997 to 2000 and from 2001 to 2005. He served as County Governor of Vestland from 2010 to 2022,having served as the County Governor of Hordaland from 2010 until the office was merged with that of neighboring Sogn og Fjordane in 2019.

Early voting was possible between 10 August and 11 September 2009,while some municipalities also held open voting on 13 September. Voters elected 169 members for the Storting,each for a four-year term. Voter turn-out in the 2009 general elections was 76.4%.

The 1994 national convention of the Progress Party of Norway was held from 15 April to 17 April at the hotel BolkesjøTuristhotell in Bolkesjø,Telemark. It was originally set up to be a normal convention with 157 delegates in a non-election year,but because of mounting antagonism between a traditionalist and a libertarian faction,it became clear some months before the conventions that personal positions could be at stake. The party leader seat,held by Carl I. Hagen since 1978,was up for re-election. The deputy leaders Ellen Wibe and Hans J. Røsjorde was not up for election until 1995,but there were talks about forming a motion of no confidence against Wibe. The political disagreements roughly corresponded to a cleavage between two factions.

Bjørnar Moxnes is a Norwegian politician and activist representing the left-wing political party,the Red Party in the Storting. Moxnes opposes the European Union,characterizing Norway's participation in the EEA as undemocratic. Moxnes describes himself as a socialist. He served as the leader of the Red Party from 2012 to 2023,when he resigned in the wake of stealing a pair of sunglasses from a shop at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Moxnes had previously served as the party's deputy leader from 2010 to 2012.
Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 8 and 9 September 2013 to elect all 169 members of the unicameral Storting. The centre-right coalition obtained 96 seats,while the incumbent red–green coalition government obtained 72 seats and the Green Party obtained one. The Labour Party won the largest share (30.8%) of the votes cast,with the Conservatives coming second (26.8%),after increasing its share by 9.6 percentage points.
