Lars Arne Nilsen (born 6 April 1964) is a Norwegian football coach who last managed 07 Vestur.

Career

Nilsen is from Sotra in Fjell municipality. He played for Stord Sunnhordland FK as a young player and was the club's top scorer in 1988, the year he scored the 1–0 goal in the promotion battle to the top division against Os TF. He played for Sogndal from 1989 to 1990, [1] Nest-Sotra from 1991 to 1994 and Volda from 1995 where he also coached. In 1999, he was coach of the Ørsta IL. From 2008, he was assistant coach for IL Hødd, under Einar Magne Skeide. Nilsen was promoted to head coach ahead of the 2010 season and led the team to victory in the 2012 Norwegian Football Cup, in a season where the team was in the second tier and barely saved from relegation. He resigned from his position in November 2013. [2]

After Nilsen took over as head coach of SK Brann in 2015, he led the team to 2nd place and direct promotion from 1. divisjon. In 2016, he secured 2nd place and silver medal in Brann's first season back in Tippeligaen, and was also chosen as the coach of the year in Tippeligaen. [3] After two years of poor results he was sacked in August 2020. After a 3 year spell with Aalesunds FK, Nilsen was hired by Faroe Islands Premier League side 07 Vestur following the departure of Michael Schjønberg.

Personal life

Nilsen is the brother of former Vålerenga player, Nest-Sotra and Brann II coach Helge Nilsen, and the father of footballer Sivert Heltne Nilsen who also played in Hødd under his father's management, but as in 2013 went on to play for Vålerenga. In 2015, he went to SK Brann, again under his father's management. [4]

The 2012 season was Brann's 26th consecutive year in Tippeligaen, It was Rune Skarsfjord's second full season as the club's manager. Brann competed in the Tippeligaen, finishing 6th, and the 2012 Norwegian Football Cup where they were knocked out by eventual winners IL Hødd at the semi-final stage.

The 2012 Norwegian Football Cup final was the 107th final of the Norwegian Football Cup. The final was contested by Hødd and Tromsø and took place on 25 November 2012 at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, in front of a crowd of 24,217. This was Tromsø's third final, and they had won the two previous finals in 1986 and 1996, while the Norwegian First Division side Hødd played their first final ever.

The 2015 Tippeligaen was the 71st completed season of top-tier football in Norway. The competition began on 6 April 2015, one week later than in the previous season. A short summer-break in June was scheduled between the rounds played on 12 July and 26 July, and the decisive match was played on 8 November 2015. Molde were the defending champions. Sandefjord, Tromsø and Mjøndalen joined as the promoted clubs from the 2014 1. divisjon. They replaced Brann, Sogndal and Sandnes Ulf who were relegated to the 2015 1. divisjon.

Sivert Heltne Nilsen is a Norwegian footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for SK Brann. He has previously played for Hødd, Vålerenga, Brann, Horsens, Elfsborg and Waasland-Beveren and has represented his country at youth level.

The 2015 season is Mjøndalen's 105th season, and their first Tippeligaen season for 22 years. It is their 10th season with Vegard Hansen as manager, during which they will compete in the Norwegian Cup as well as the Tippeligaen.

The 2015 La Manga Cup is an exhibition international club football (soccer) competition featuring football club teams from Europe, which was held in February and March 2015. All matches were played in La Manga Stadium in La Manga Club, Spain. This was the eighteenth La Manga Cup.

Founded in 2020, they took over the elite license from Nest-Sotra and began playing in the 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. Øygarden FK was a cooperation between Øygarden clubs Nordre Fjell, Sund SK, Skogsvåg IL, Telavåg IL, Skjergard IL and Nest-Sotra. In 2019, the clubs agreed to establish a new elite team.
