Lars Erik Ludvig Eriksson (born 1 April 1980) is a Swedish singer-songwriter who became famous for his participation in Sweden's Idol 2008 .
Eriksson was born in Karlskoga, and was just one year old when his family moved to Liberia in 1981, where Lars' father worked at a mining company. Moving back to Sweden in 1984, Lars began playing piano at age 5. He started writing music at age 9 and performed at school. He learned playing the guitar at around age 16. Together with three friends, he formed the band "The Jisreels" for three years (1997–1999). They played mainly local gigs, and toured the west coast in the summer of 1998. [1]
By the time Eriksson applied to Swedish Idol auditions, he had reportedly written around 200 songs. [2] Eriksson became a favorite of the competition from the day he auditioned when Idol jury member Anders Bagge promised to cooperate on a record after he heard him perform two songs on his audition in Lund. [3] But he created big controversy when he became critical of the competition, even quoted as saying he did not wish to win the race. [4] [5] In November 2008, he was eliminated, finishing 7th overall.
He also recorded the single "Love" jointly with Elin Sigvardsson. [6] [11] It reached No. 5 in the Swedish singles chart. Eriksson cooperated with Anders Bagge on an album in the autumn of 2009, [7] but for unknown reasons, the album was not released until 11 February 2011. [8] In May 2010, a collaboration began between Eriksson and Birger Pettersson Wiik and his record label HGM (High Gear Music) in Årjäng, with the single "Rejected Love" released digitally. [9]
Eriksson then released two albums and one EP – "Rust and golden dust" (album, 2011), "Inconsequencia" (EP, 2011) & "Dictions and contradictions" (album, 2012) – before he completed a Degree of Bachelor of Arts in the field of Conservation at Uppsala University in Visby, Gotland (Sweden).
In 2013, Eriksson had a song ("The lonely journey called life") in the Swedish-Icelandic movie "Hemma", which won prize at Busan International Film Festival in South Korea as The Audience Choice. [10] On 9 July 2013, Paulo Coelho shared Eriksson's song "Like the flowing river" on Facebook and on Twitter. The song was inspired by one of his books, by the same name.
After graduation in 2015, Eriksson worked a number of jobs as a conservation officer in places such as Gotland, The Åland Islands (Finland), Växjö, Kristianstad and Östersund. Eriksson has also worked as a carpenter in Portugal (2010), restored a Medieval castle in Scotland (2014) and played the streets and buses of Cuzco, Peru (2015).
In 2017 Eriksson released two demo albums and one EP: “As it were” (demo album), [11] "Lonely Jim" (EP) & "If you will" (demo album) . All sales revenue from the single and the EP "Lonely Jim" continually goes to UNHCR – The UN Refugee Agency. With those releases, the eight-year collaboration between Eriksson and the record company High Gear Music ended.
In 2018, Eriksson released independently the EP "Guds vän och allas fiende", [12] which has received positive reviews in Italy [13] and the US. [14] The songs were written on the Swedish island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea during a three-year period when Eriksson lived and studied there. The songs cover experiences that happened there. The EP is partly recorded on Gotland, partly in Stockholm. The title of the EP means "Friend of God and enemy of all", which has its origins from a pirate gang, Vitaliebröderna, who made the seas around Gotland unsafe during the Middle Ages. Their battle-cry was "Friends of God and enemies of all!”
Eriksson is a member of the International music collective Kaip [15] and is a board member of Dan Andersson-sällskapet [16] (The Dan Andersson Society).

The Roxbox is a boxed set compilation by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on 18 October 2006 by Roxette Recordings and Capitol. It is an expanded companion piece to the single-disc greatest hits album A Collection of Roxette Hits: Their 20 Greatest Songs!, which was also released on the same date. The box set consists of four CDs (HDCD) containing singles, album tracks, non-album singles and B-sides, as well as previously unreleased outtakes, alternate versions and demos. It also includes two DVDs: the first is of their previously unreleased 9 January 1993 performance at the Cirkus arena in Stockholm for MTV Unplugged; the second contains every music video ever recorded by the duo. The fifth season of Swedish Idol premiered on 3 September 2008 and continued until its grand finale on 12 December, when 22-year-old Kevin Borg was crowned winner. It was the first season to feature new judges Laila Bagge, Anders Bagge and Andreas Carlsson, a move that made it the first Idol series in the world to completely replace its judging panel. The series took advantage of guest judges including Charlotte Perrelli, Desmond Child and Cyndi Lauper, and the final 3 results show featured a performance by Leona Lewis, who sang "Forgive Me". For the second year running, the grand finale was held in Stockholm's Globen Arena with a live audience of 16,000 people, where operatic group Il Divo also sang live. Season 5 of Swedish Idol marked only the second time in worldwide Idol history where neither of the final two contestants were born in the show's home country. Winner Kevin Borg was born in Malta and runner-up Alice Svensson was born in Vietnam. The only other Idol contest to have this occur was Greece's Super Idol in 2004.

Idol 2009 was the sixth season of the Swedish idol series and was broadcast by TV 4. The jury, identical to the previous year, consisted of Anders Bagge, Laila Bagge and Andreas Carlsson. Peter Jihde, the show's host, was also a continuation of the previous year's cast. The audition cities visited during the spring of 2009 were Gothenburg, Gävle, Malmö, Stockholm and Umeå, respectively. Around 11,000 people applied for Idol 2009, establishing a new Swedish record.
Rabih Jaber, also known by his simply Rabih is a Swedish singer of Lebanese origin. He is a former participant of Swedish Idol 2009, where he finished in seventh place. Jaber and Eddie Razaz, yet another Idol participant, became a duo pop boy band as Rebound! in 2010 with a number of hits on the Swedish charts. After the split-up of the duo in April 2011, Jaber continued for a while as a solo singer. He has of recent years made a career as a songwriter for other artists.
Ellen Linnea Petrea Henriksson is a Swedish singer and songwriter who participated in Idol 2010 in which she placed fourth. As of April 2018, she is also the lead singer of the jazz band Prylf. In 2012, Henriksson released her first music album, which she co-wrote and co-produced with singer Orup. During mid-2013, Henriksson toured Sweden with the band Gyllene Tider.

It was released as the album's third single on 11 October 2004 through Columbia and Sony Music. Written by Thomas "Orup" Eriksson and produced by Anders Hansson, "Lena Anthem" is a disco song with synthesizer instrumentation and interpolations of Philipsson's 1987 single "Dansa i neon". Lyrically, the song contains exaggerated and tongue-in-cheek statements that proclaim her greater than her rivals.

Svarta ballader is the classically-trained Swedish folk musician Sofia Karlsson's second studio album, released in 2005. On the disc she exclusively interprets poems written by the Swedish proletarian school author Dan Andersson; five of the eleven poems are from his 1917 collection Svarta ballader. The poems are set to music by different composers, including the singers Gunnar Turesson, Gunde Johansson, and Thorstein Bergman; the musician Sven Scholander; a member of Karlsson's band, Sofie Livebrant, and Karlsson herself; while one song was set by Andersson. Karlsson and her band arranged all the songs, with novel instrumentation including cello, trumpet, bass clarinet, piano and percussion.
