Idol 2021 was the seventeenth season of the Swedish Idol series. [1] The show was broadcast on TV4 and starts on 23 August 2021. [2] [3] Judge member Nikki Amini left the show after the sixteenth season. [4]

On 27 May 2021, it was announced that Katia Mosally would replace Nikki Amini as new judge for this season. [2]

Winner of this season was singer Birkir Blær. [5]

Idol is a Swedish reality-competition talent show broadcast on TV4. It first appeared in August 2004, and became one of the most popular shows on Swedish television. Part of the Idols franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which was first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.

Rabih Jaber, also known by his simply Rabih is a Swedish singer of Lebanese origin. He is a former participant of Swedish Idol 2009, where he finished in seventh place. Jaber and Eddie Razaz, yet another Idol participant, became a duo pop boy band as Rebound! in 2010 with a number of hits on the Swedish charts. After the split-up of the duo in April 2011, Jaber continued for a while as a solo singer. He has of recent years made a career as a songwriter for other artists.

Idol 2011 was the Swedish Idol series' eight season and premiered on TV4 on 4 September 2011. Pär Lernström was the new host of the series, after Peter Jihde declined to return as host after Idol 2010. Two of the judges from earlier year returned, namely Anders Bagge and Laila Bagge Wahlgren, were joined in with two new judges, Alexander Bard and Pelle Lidell.

X Factor was the Swedish version of The X Factor, with the only season of the series debuting on September 9, 2012 and ending on December 7, 2012. The winner of the series was Awa Santesson-Sey. TV4 announced in January 2013 that Idol, another singing talent show seeking to discover the best singer through nationwide auditions, would return in 2013 and that X Factor would not continue.

Idol 2014 will be the Swedish Idol series' tenth season, which will likely premiere in August 2014 and end in December 2014. After the completion of season 9, TV4 announced a tenth season, Idol 2014, airing in 2014. The season will, in addition to the competition, also celebrate the show's 10th anniversary. Alexander Bard, Laila Bagge and Anders Bagge will return as judges from last season. The season's host is the same as 2011 and 2013, Pär Lernström.

Negar Nikki Amini, is an Iranian-born Swedish marketer at Universal Music Groups office in London. Since 2016, she has served as a judge on the Swedish version of Idol broadcast on TV4 - 2016 alongside Fredrik Kempe and Quincy Jones III, and since 2017 alongside Kishti Tomita, Alexander Kronlund and Anders Bagge. She confirmed after 2020's final show that she will not appear in the next season of the show. Having begun her career as a marketer for the record label Warner Music, Amini has worked with musicians including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Avicii and Justin Bieber. She participated in Let's Dance 2018 broadcast on TV4.

Idol 2016 is the twelfth season of the Swedish Idol series. This is the first year with a new jury consisting of Fredrik Kempe, Nikki Amini and Quincy Delight Jones III. Presenter of the show is as previous Pär Lernström. The show is broadcast on TV4.

Idol 2017 is the thirteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. This year, Anders Bagge returned as a judge after a two-year absence. Kishti Tomita returned as a judge as well, since her departure in 2007. Nikki Amini also returned as judge, having made her debut last season. Alexander Kronlund was the new judge. Pär Lernström returned as the host. Gina Dirawi joined as co-host. Daniel Redgert joined as the co-host for Idol Extra.

Idol 2020 was the sixteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. Like earlier seasons, the season was broadcast on TV4. New for this year is that one person got to audition for this season already during the final of Idol 2019 in Globen, Rebecka Assio made it through to the final audition in Stockholm.

Birkir Blær Óðinsson is an Icelandic singer. On 10 December 2021, he won Swedish Idol 2021 at the Avicii Arena having resided in Sweden since November 2020.

Idol 2022 was the eighteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. The show was broadcast on TV4 and started on 22 August 2022, and then ended with a final on 25 November. Pär Lernström continued as presenter of the show with Anis Don Demina as co-presenter. The judges from the last season all returned.
