Idol 2013 was the Swedish Idol series' ninth season which premiered on August 19, 2013. [1] [2] and ended on December 6, 2013. In January 2013, TV4 confirmed that the Idol series would be returning after a year's hiatus after Idol 2011 . [3]

The contestants included professional footballer Kevin Walker, who played in the Swedish second division for GIF Sundsvall. A few of Walker's matches with the team were moved to avoid a clash with his television commitments. [4]

Winner of season nine was Kevin Walker.

Alice Cecilia Linh Svensson is a Vietnamese-born Swedish singer. She finished as runner-up in Idol 2008 and later took part in Melodifestivalen 2017 with the song "Running with Lions".

Idol 2009 was the sixth season of the Swedish idol series and was broadcast by TV 4. The jury, identical to the previous year, consisted of Anders Bagge, Laila Bagge and Andreas Carlsson. Peter Jihde, the show's host, was also a continuation of the previous year's cast. The audition cities visited during the spring of 2009 were Gothenburg, Gävle, Malmö, Stockholm and Umeå, respectively. Around 11,000 people applied for Idol 2009, establishing a new Swedish record.

The seventh season of Swedish Idol premiered on September 7, 2010 and concluded in December 2010 and was broadcast by TV4. Judges Anders Bagge, Laila Bagge Wahlgren and Andreas Carlsson continued to judge the show's contestants for their third year, along with, for the fourth consecutive year, Peter Jihde as host.

Pär Hugo Gustav Lernström, born 4 September 1980, is a Swedish television presenter, perhaps best known for presenting the Swedish Idol series on TV4.

Idol 2011 was the Swedish Idol series' eight season and premiered on TV4 on 4 September 2011. Pär Lernström was the new host of the series, after Peter Jihde declined to return as host after Idol 2010. Two of the judges from earlier year returned, namely Anders Bagge and Laila Bagge Wahlgren, were joined in with two new judges, Alexander Bard and Pelle Lidell.

The Voice Sverige is the Swedish version of the singing competition The Voice of Holland. The Voice Sweden premiered in early January 2012 with its first season. The host was Carina Berg and judges were the singers Carola Häggkvist, Magnus Uggla, Ola Salo and rapper Petter. In January 2013, TV4 announced that Idol, another singing talent show seeking to discover the best singer through nationwide auditions, would return in 2013 and that The Voice Sverige would not continue.

X Factor was the Swedish version of The X Factor, with the only season of the series debuting on September 9, 2012 and ending on December 7, 2012. The winner of the series was Awa Santesson-Sey. TV4 announced in January 2013 that Idol, another singing talent show seeking to discover the best singer through nationwide auditions, would return in 2013 and that X Factor would not continue.

Idol 2015 is the eleventh season of the Swedish Idol series, which began on 17 August 2015 and ended with the final on 4 December 2015. This was the last season with the current jury which consisted of Laila Bagge, Anders Bagge and Alexander Bard. Martin Almgren won the competition, Amanda Winberg became the runner-up and Simon Zion came third.

Idol 2016 is the twelfth season of the Swedish Idol series. This is the first year with a new jury consisting of Fredrik Kempe, Nikki Amini and Quincy Delight Jones III. Presenter of the show is as previous Pär Lernström. The show is broadcast on TV4.

Idol 2017 is the thirteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. This year, Anders Bagge returned as a judge after a two-year absence. Kishti Tomita returned as a judge as well, since her departure in 2007. Nikki Amini also returned as judge, having made her debut last season. Alexander Kronlund was the new judge. Pär Lernström returned as the host. Gina Dirawi joined as co-host. Daniel Redgert joined as the co-host for Idol Extra.

Nadja Kasanesh Holm, is a Swedish singer and winner of Idol 2020. She was born in Ethiopia and grew up in Roknäs outside of Piteå. On 27 November, 2020, she along with Paulina Pancenkov made it to the final of the TV4 singing competition Idol 2020. Nadja Holm won the final.

Idol 2021 was the seventeenth season of the Swedish Idol series. The show was broadcast on TV4 and starts on 23 August 2021. Judge member Nikki Amini left the show after the sixteenth season.

Idol 2022 was the eighteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. The show was broadcast on TV4 and started on 22 August 2022, and then ended with a final on 25 November. Pär Lernström continued as presenter of the show with Anis Don Demina as co-presenter. The judges from the last season all returned.
