Las Anod District (Somali : Degmada Laascaanood) is a district Sool. It has its capital at Las Anod. Other settlements include: Saaxdheer, Bo'ame, XidhXidh, Qoriley and Yagori.

Hudun District is a historical district in the Sool region of SSC-Khaatumo Its capital lies at Hudun. The border between Hudun District and Las Anod District goes through the town of Buur Anod, also called Buur Caanood, a town that lies in between the towns of Dib Shabeel to the north, and Daryaha (Daryaha) to the south. This was the site of the largest battle between Dervish and colonial forces in 1904.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Somaliland National Army</span> Land warfare branch of Somalilands military

The Somaliland National Army, is the land force and largest branch of the Somaliland Armed Forces is based in the Somaliland capital of Hargeisa. There are approximately under 100,000 active members. The Somaliland National Army is composed entirely of professionals and volunteers due to the army not being mandatory of conscription. Some Somaliland battalions operate near the Puntland border due to a border dispute.

Cayn or Ayn is an administrative region that Puntland unilaterally declared to be established in the 2000s. However, there is Somaliland between Cayn and Puntland, and they do not directly border each other. Somaliland has legally designated this area as its territory as Buhoodle District. SSC-Khatumo, which declared its secession from Somaliland in 2023, claims the territories of Sanaag, Sool, and Cayn, as its name implies, and effectively controls Buuhoodle.

The Las Anod conflict is an ongoing armed conflict between the Somaliland National Army and the SSC-Khatumo forces of the Dhulbahante in Las Anod, the capital of the Sool region. Fighting erupted on February 6 after Somaliland security forces held a violent crackdown on civil protests. On February 8, the supreme Garad of Dhulbahante, Garad Jama Garad Ali, declared an intent to secede and reunite with the Federal Government of Somalia.
