Latham Tiver (born July 5,1973) is an American labor union official and Republican Party politician serving as a member of the New Jersey Senate for the 8th legislative district,having taken office on January 9,2024.
Tiver graduated from Shawnee High School. [1] A resident of Southampton Township,New Jersey,Tiver is employed as the business representative of Local 825 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. [2] [3]
Tiver served on the Southampton Township Committee and was elected to the Burlington County Board of County Freeholders,serving in office from 2016 to 2019. [1]
With Jean Stanfield not running for re-election after a single term in the Senate,Tiver stepped in and sought the Republican nomination. [3] Tiver defeated Democrat Gaye Burton in the 2023 New Jersey Senate election. [4] [5] Tiver was one of 10 members elected for the first time in 2023 to serve in the Senate,one quarter of all seats. Burlington County is a county in the South Jersey region of the U.S. state of New Jersey. The county is the largest by land area in New Jersey and ranks second behind neighboring Ocean County in total area. Its county seat is Mount Holly. As of the 2020 census,the county was the state's 11th-most-populous county,with a population of 461,860,its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 13,126 (+2.9%) from the 448,734 recorded at the 2010 census,which in turn had reflected an increase of 25,340 (6.0%) from the 423,394 enumerated at the 2000 census. The most populous place in the county was Evesham Township with 46,826 residents as of the 2020 census. Washington Township covered 102.71 square miles (266.0 km2),the largest area of any municipality in the county.

Joseph Howarth Jr. is an American Republican Party politician who represented the 8th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since he was sworn into office on January 12,2016. Howarth lost re-election in the 2019 GOP primary. He left office on January 14,2020.
