The Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Song is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. [1]
According to the Latin Grammy category description guide it is designed for new songs that contain 51% of the lyrics in Spanish and it is awarded to the songwriter(s). [2] Instrumental recordings, cover songs, remixes and interpolation/sampling recordings are not elegible for the category. It must be a completely new song.
It was introduced in 2019 at the 20th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, with Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz and American singer Camila Cabello being the inaugural winners for the song "Mi Persona Favorita". Colombian singer Camilo is the only composer to receive the award more than once with two consecutive wins.

The award is given to the songwriters of new songs containing at least 51% of lyrics in Spanish or Portuguese language. Instrumental songs or a new version of a previously recorded track are not eligible. Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees, according to a restructuration made by the academy for the four general categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Song of the Year.

Por Primera Vez is the major-label debut studio album by Colombian singer Camilo, released on April 17, 2020, through Sony Music. The album was produced by Camilo himself alongside Mary Conde Sietesuelas, with Edgar Barrera, Tainy, Andrés Saavedra and Rafa Arcaute also appearing in some tracks as producers. It features collaborations with Camilo's wife Evaluna Montaner, Mexican singer Christian Nodal, Puerto Rican singer Pedro Capó and Colombian singer Shakira, the latter two in the song "Tutu" and its remix, respectively.
The 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards took place on November 14, 2024, at Kaseya Center in collaboration with Miami-Dade County and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB). The awards honored recordings released between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024. It was the third time the ceremony takes place at Kaseya Center after 2003 and 2020. Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sánchez hosted the ceremony.
