Laura Regan (born October 17, 1977) is a Canadian actress. She has had leading and supporting roles in the films Saving Jessica Lynch (2003), [2] [3] My Little Eye (2002), [2] [4] They (2002), [5] [6] Dead Silence (2007), and Atlas Shrugged: Part III (2014). [7] She had a recurring role as Jennifer Crane in the TV series Mad Men .

Early life

Regan was born in Halifax, [8] Nova Scotia, the youngest in a family of seven. Regan is the daughter of Anita Carole Regan (née Harrison) and former Nova Scotia premier Gerald Regan; [2] and sister of Geoff Regan, former Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons and former federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and Live at Five's Nancy Regan. Her maternal grandfather was Saskatchewan MP John Harrison. [9]

Career

Regan's first role was in M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable . She landed her first starring role in Robert Harmon's They .

For her role of Emma in the film My Little Eye , Regan won in the category Outstanding Performance by an Actor – Female at the 2002 Atlantic Film Festival. [2] [10]

Frank Herbert's Dune is a 2000 science fiction television miniseries, based on the 1965 novel of the same title by Frank Herbert. Paul MacEwan was a politician from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. His 33 years in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly made him the longest continuous serving Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Nova Scotia history. He was a contentious politician, who seemed to court controversy. So much so, he was kicked out of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (NDP) while he was a sitting member of the assembly in 1980 and caused them to lose official party status without him. He formed his own political party, the Cape Breton Labour Party, to contest the 1984 provincial election. He served one-term as its leader, before the party disintegrated because of financial issues. He eventually joined the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia, and became a Liberal member of the legislature. In 1993, he became the Speaker of the House of Assembly. His term as the speaker was marked with many controversies around bias and partisanship. His final years in the legislature saw him take prominent roles as Party Whip for the Liberals. After several health issues, he decided to not run for office again in 2003. He retired and lived another 14 years before finally succumbing to health issues in 2017, at age 74 in Sydney.

Atlas Shrugged Part III: Who Is John Galt? is a 2014 American science fiction-drama film based on the philosopher Ayn Rand's 1957 novel Atlas Shrugged. It is the third installment in the Atlas Shrugged film series and the sequel to the 2012 film Atlas Shrugged: Part II, continuing the story where its predecessor left off. The release, originally set for July 4, occurred on September 12, 2014. The film used a completely different cast and crew from the second film, which itself used a completely different cast from the first film. Directed by J. James Manera, it stars Laura Regan, Kristoffer Polaha, and Joaquim de Almeida.

Atlas Shrugged is a trilogy of American science fiction drama films. The series, adaptations of Ayn Rand's 1957 novel of the same title, are subtitled Part I (2011), Part II (2012) and Part III (2014); the latter sometimes includes Who Is John Galt? in the title.
