Lawrence Edward Holland was an English cricketer active from 1912 to 1920 who played for Northamptonshire (Northants). He was born in Tinsley, Sheffield, on 17 January 1887 and died in Desborough, Northamptonshire, on 3 July 1956. He appeared in ten first-class matches as a righthanded batsman who bowled right arm slow. He scored 202 runs with a highest score of 63 and took six wickets with a best performance of three for 26. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Northamptonshire. Its limited overs team is called the Northants Steelbacks – a reference to the Northamptonshire Regiment which was formed in 1881. The name was supposedly a tribute to the soldiers' apparent indifference to the harsh discipline imposed by their officers. Founded in 1878, Northamptonshire (Northants) held minor status at first but was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship during the 1890s. In 1905, the club joined the County Championship and was elevated to first-class status, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.
Allan Joseph Lamb is a former England cricketer and captain who played for the first-class teams of Western Province and Northamptonshire. He joined Northamptonshire so he could enhance his career and eventually play Test cricket for England, as his native country South Africa were to be banned from International cricket due to the apartheid régime. He retired in 1995 at the age of 41 and currently works for Sky Sports and other TV cricketing broadcasts as an analyst.
Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in 2005 are playing their cricket in Division Two of the County Championship and Division One of the totesport League. They started the season at 12–1 to win the Division Two title. During the off season 9 players left.
Dennis Brookes was an English cricketer who played for Northamptonshire between 1934 and 1959. He also played in one Test match for England against West Indies in 1948. Brookes was President of Northamptonshire from 1982 to 1984. A cultured and prolific opening batsman, Brookes was the first professional skipper at Northamptonshire, and became both county president and a Justice of the peace.
Steven Willem Lubbers is a former Dutch all-round cricketer and the first ODI captain for Netherlands. A right-handed batsman and right arm off-break bowler who captained the national side for some years and was the first man to take a wicket for the Netherlands in a One Day International.
Nico Boje is a former South African cricketer who played in 43 Tests, 115 One Day Internationals and single Twenty20 International for South Africa.
Mushtaq Mohammad is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 57 Tests and 10 ODIs from 1959 to 1979. A right-handed batsman and a leg-spinner, he is one of the most successful Pakistani all-rounders and went on to captain his country in nineteen Test matches. He was the first and to date only Pakistani to score a century and take five wickets in the same test match twice. He was one of the five Mohammad brothers, four of whom played cricket for Pakistan. Mushtaq recently coached the United States national cricket team, but has returned to commentary for Pakistani Television.
Norman 'Buddy' Oldfield was an English cricketer and umpire who played in one Test in 1939 and later umpired in two others. Between 1935 and 1939 he played first-class cricket for Lancashire, before the Second World War interrupted and ended a promising start to his Test career. Oldfield changed clubs and played for Northamptonshire between 1948 and 1954.
David John Grimwood Sales is an English cricket player who has played for the cricket teams of Northamptonshire, England A and Wellington NZ.
Mattheus Hendrik "Riki" Wessels is an Australian cricketer who currently plays for Worcestershire. A right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper, Wessels has played for Marylebone Cricket Club, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire, and also for the Mid West Rhinos in Zimbabwe and the Sydney Sixers in Australia. He is the son of former South African captain Kepler Wessels, who also played 24 Test matches for Australia.

David Ripley is an England cricket coach and former cricketer who played for Northamptonshire in county cricket from 1984-2001. He took 678 catches and 85 stumpings. In his 307 first-class games he scored 8693 runs at 28.40 with nine centuries. He attended Royds comprehensive school where he excelled in football also. He played youth cricket for Carlton Cricket Club, and for Leeds Loe Lumb and Yorkshire Colts at representative level, winning his Yorkshire cap at age 14.
Alex George Wakely is an English cricketer who currently plays for Northamptonshire and is a former captain of the England under-19s. He is a right-hand batsman, bowls off-breaks and sometimes medium pace bowling.
Claud Neville Woolley was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire. He also served as a first-class umpire and stood in one Test during the 1948 Ashes series. A right-hand batsman and right-arm slow-medium bowler, he is the older brother of Frank who had a more successful playing career including representing England in 64 Tests.
Robert Irving "Rob" Newton is an English cricketer who plays for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. He is an aggressive right-handed top order batsman. Newton enjoyed a prolific cricket record while at school and was tipped by The Wisden Cricketer as 'one to watch'. He made his Northamptonshire first-team debut in 2009.
