Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman is an Indian former international cricketer and a former cricket commentator and pundit. A right-handed batsman known for his elegant stroke play, Laxman played as a middle-order batsman in Test cricket. Honorary Captain Shankar Lakshman was an Indian hockey player who played as a goalkeeper. He was part of the Indian team in the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics, that won two gold medals and one silver medal. He was the first goalkeeper to become captain of an international hockey team and was awarded the Arjuna award and the Padma Shri by the Indian government. He was captain of the Indian team which won the gold in the 1966 Asian Games. After missing the selection for the 1968 Olympics, Lakshman quit hockey. He remained with the Army, retiring in 1979 as a captain of the Maratha Light Infantry. He died in 2006 after suffering gangrene in one leg in Mhow.

Hami Tin Bhai is a 2004 Nepali action comedy film directed by Shiva Regmi. The film features three of biggest superstars of the late 1990s and 2000s era- Rajesh Hamal, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Nikhil Upreti in the lead roles supported by Rekha Thapa, Jharana Thapa, Nandita KC, Keshab Bhattrai, Sushila Rayamajhi, Ravi Giri etc. The movie praised by critics with many critics highlighting its screenplay, music, comedy and the actors' performance especially of its lead actors but over the top action scenes were heavily criticized. The movie broke all the records at the records at the box office and was recorded as an "All Time Blockbuster" at the box office and is one of the highest-grossing films in Nepali film history. It is considered a classic movie by fans.
Krishna Bahadur Basnet is a Nepalese long-distance runner. He competed in the men's marathon at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
Parvati Thapa is a Nepalese sports shooter who participated in the Women's 10 metre air rifle event at the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seol, South Korea. She was the first woman to represent Nepal at the Olympics.
