Lee Morton (born 23 May 1995) is a Scottish field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Amsterdam and the Scotland and Great Britain national team. [1]
He represented Scotland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. [2] In August 2019, he was selected in the Scotland squad for the 2019 EuroHockey Championship. [3] On 18 June 2024, he was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [4]
On 30 July 2024, when representing Great Britain at the Olympics, he scored a late equaliser from a penalty in a group stage match against the Netherlands, to level the game 2-2.
The team were eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing a penalty shootout to India. [5]
Morton played club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Old Georgians. He has also played for Reading. He began his career at his childhood side Kelburne, based in Paisley, where Morton originates from. He amassed a total of seven league titles, 5 Scottish cups and a bronze medal at the EuroHockey Club Challenge I held in Glasgow, Scotland before moving south of the border. Success has followed him down south with a two league titles, an English Cup and three indoor titles. In 2024 he left Great Britain to play for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Amsterdam. [6]
Harry John Martin is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Hurley. He played a total of 245 matches for the England and Great Britain national teams from 2011 until 2024.
Iain Lewers is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He was also a member the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship and 2014 Commonwealth Games.
