Lee Newman (born 1 May 1973) is a Welsh male athlete who competes in the shot put and discus events. He has personal best distances of 18.85 metres and 60.48 metres respectively in these events. Newman was National Record Holder in the Discus for more than a decade.
Newman coached his then wife, Shelley Newman (nee Drew) to the Olympic Games in Discus in 2004.
After retiring from sports, Newman built a successful career in Private Equity running multi-national companies. [1]
Newman competed in the discus event at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia finishing 7th and competed in both the discus and shot put events at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England finishing 8th and 11th respectively. [2] [3]
He has won three bronze medals at British championships, two in the shot put in 1994 and 1999 and one in the discus in 1999. [4]
Dani Stevens is an Australian retired discus thrower who in 2009 became the youngest ever female world champion in the event. She is the current national and Oceanian record holder.
Robert 'Bob' Boyd Weir is a male retired English athlete, best known as a discus thrower, who was a twelve-time national champion. Weir also achieved success in hammer throw, winning Commonwealth Games gold in 1982, and competed in strongman competitions.
Sultana Frizell is a Canadian track and field athlete competing in the hammer throw. Frizell currently trains under the guidance of Derek Evely in Kamloops, British Columbia. She competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Frizell is the former Commonwealth Games champion in the hammer throw and Commonwealth Games record holder for the event as well.

Ronald Odair de Oliveira Julião is a Brazilian track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and discus throw. He is a member of BM&F Bovespa's track club and is trained by João Paulo Alves da Cunha. He is the Brazilian record holder in the discus throw (65.55 m). He is the second highest ranked South American discus thrower after Jorge Balliengo and has won straight titles at the Brazil championships since 2005.

She is a four-time NCAA Track and Field Champion, winning the javelin in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and the discus in 2010. In 2012, she won the US Olympic Trials in the javelin and represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also represented the US at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Julian Edward Wruck is an Australian discus thrower and Olympic athlete. His personal best to date is 68.16m which places him as the Number 2 athlete on the All Time List of Australian discus throwers.
Aled Siôn Davies is a Welsh Paralympian athlete competing mainly in category F42 throwing events. In 2012 he became the world record holder of the F42 shot put and in the 2012 Summer Paralympics he took the bronze medal in shot put and gold in the discus. In 2013 Davies took the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus in Lyon. He won double gold in his home country at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in the shot put and discus. This followed his silver medal in the F42-44 discus from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he represented Wales. Davies also took part in the Channel 4 TV series Celebrity SAS: Who dares wins
Kieran Tscherniawsky is a Paralympian athlete from England competing mainly in category F33 discus. In 2011, he became the World Junior Champion in the discus and qualified for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. He was a repeat member of the team at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.

Prescott represented England in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, taking the bronze medal in the SP shot put. Obiageri Pamela Amaechi is a Nigerian discus thrower who won the discus event at the 2023 African Games and came third in the discus events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 African Championships in Athletics. She has competed for the Princeton Tigers in US college athletics.
