Nippon Professional Baseball or NPB is the highest level of baseball in Japan. Locally,it is often called Puro Yakyū (プロ野球),meaning Professional Baseball. Outside of Japan,it is often referred to as "Japanese baseball".
The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes were a Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team based in Osaka,Japan,which was in the Pacific League. In 2005 the team was merged with the Orix BlueWave to become the team now known as the Orix Buffaloes. The team played in Fujiidera Stadium,and later in Osaka Dome.

He then played eleven seasons in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball for the Lotte Orions,where he was a four-time All-Star and a four-time Best Nine Award-winner. His nephew Derrek Lee also played in the MLB.

Yasutomo Kubo is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the Hamburg Stealers of the German Baseball Bundesliga. He has played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chiba Lotte Marines from 2005 to 2008,the Hanshin Tigers from 2009 to 2013,and the Yokohama DeNA BayStars from 2014 to 2017.
Baek In-chun is a retired Korean baseball player. Baek spent most of his career playing in Nippon Professional Baseball. He finished his career in Korea with the KBO League and then got into managing. Baek holds the KBO record for highest batting average in a season;as a manager he led the LG Twins to their first KBO championship.
Arismendy Alcántara is a Dominican professional baseball center fielder and second baseman who is a free agent. Alcántara signed as an international free agent with the Chicago Cubs in 2008 as a shortstop. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cubs,Oakland Athletics,and Cincinnati Reds and in Nippon Professional Baseball with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
American expatriate baseball players in Japan have been a feature of the Japanese professional leagues since 1934. American expatriate players began to steadily find spots on Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) rosters in the 1960s. More than 600 Americans have played NPB,although very few last more than a single season in Japan.
