The Lesotho National Badminton Team (Sotho : Sehlopha papadi badminton sa naha sa Lesotho) represents Lesotho in international team competitions and is controlled by the Lesotho Badminton Association, the governing body for Lesotho badminton. [1]
The national team debuted in the African Badminton Championships in 2023.
The Lesotho badminton team was formed after the establishment of the Lesotho Badminton Association in 1999 under the Lesotho Sports & Recreation Commission development program. [2] The national team later became affiliated to the Badminton World Federation in 2018 and were part of the BWF Shuttle Time program which was aimed to develop and progress badminton in the country. [3]
The national team made their first international team event appearance at the 2023 African Badminton Championships. The team sent a total of 4 players and were eliminated in the group stages. [4]

The Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) is the governing body of badminton in Africa. It is one of the 5 continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). It now has 46 member countries and 2 associate members.
Kate Jessica Kim Lee Foo Kune is a badminton player from Mauritius. She began playing badminton in Mauritius at age six. Her first major tournament participation was 2013 BWF World Championships in China, where she lost in the first round of women's singles to Sarah Walker of England. Foo Kune represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was the flag bearer for Mauritius during the Parade of Nations.
Jessica Tan Wei Han is a Singaporean badminton player. Together with Terry Hee, they won their first BWF World Tour title as a duo at the 2022 India Open. Tan along with Hee also won the gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, a first for Singapore in that discipline at the Games. Jessica Tan and her husband Terry Hee were nominated for the Straits Times Singaporean of the Year Award 2022.
Aaron Chia Teng Fong is a Malaysian badminton player. He and his partner Soh Wooi Yik became the first ever world badminton champions from Malaysia after winning the men's doubles title at the 2022 World Championships. Together, they also won a gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games, a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships, as well as bronze medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2023 World Championships, and 2022 Asian Games.
Soh Wooi Yik is a Malaysian badminton player. He and his partner Aaron Chia became the first ever world badminton champions from Malaysia after winning the men's doubles title at the 2022 World Championships. Together, they also won a gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games, a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships, as well as bronze medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2023 World Championships and 2022 Asian Games.
The Belarus national badminton team represents Belarus in international badminton team competitions. The Belarusian team is managed by the Belarusian Badminton Federation (BBF) which organizes badminton championships and prepares Belarusian national badminton teams. The team was formed in 1992 after the association was found.
Singapore Badminton Association is the national governing body for badminton in Singapore. It governs, encourages and develops the sport throughout the country.

The Tonga national badminton team represents Tonga in international badminton team competitions. The Tongan team debuted in the Oceania Badminton Championships mixed team event in 2016. The team finished in 5th place. The Tongan junior team debuted in the Oceania Junior Badminton Championships in 2015 and finished in 5th place.
The Zimbabwe national badminton team represents Zimbabwe in international team competitions and is controlled by the Zimbabwe Badminton Association, the governing body for Zimbabwean badminton. It is affiliated with the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).
The Benin national badminton team represents Benin in international team competitions. The team is controlled by the Badminton Federation of Benin. The Beninese mixed team competed in the 2019 African Badminton Championships.
The Togo national badminton team represents Togo in international team competitions. The Togolese Badminton Federation controls everything in the national team.
The Tunisia national badminton team represents Tunisia in international team competitions. The Tunisian national team is managed by the Tunisian Badminton Federation. The men's team debuted in the African Badminton Championships in 2018.
The Northern Mariana Islands national badminton team represents Northern Mariana Islands, an unincorporated territory and commonwealth of the United States, in international badminton team competitions. The Northern Mariana Islands national team is controlled by the Northern Marianas Badminton Association in Saipan.
The Bhutan national badminton team represents Bhutan in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Bhutan Badminton Federation, the national governing body for Bhutanese badminton.
The Papua New Guinea national badminton team represents Papua New Guinea in international badminton team competitions. It is organized by Badminton Papua New Guinea, the governing body for badminton in Papua New Guinea. Badminton is not a popular sport in Papua New Guinea, The national team have rarely participated in international team events.
The Kiribati national badminton team represents Kiribati in international badminton team competitions and is organized by the Kiribati Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in Kiribati. The Gilbertese team competed in the Pacific Games.
Badminton was introduced to Singapore by the British in the early 19th century. By the mid-1920s, the game became increasingly popular and spread quickly to the rest of the local population. Amid the rising popularity, badminton enthusiasts began forming clubs, or “parties”, to meet and play the game. It was during this period that the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was established to promote the sport and organise competitions. The first official annual open championships was held in that period with the best players from the tournament such as E. J. Vass, Tan Chong Tee, Alice Pennefather and Ong Siew Eng were chosen to represent Singapore in the regional tournaments.
The Uruguay national badminton team represents Uruguay in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by Uruguay Badminton Association. While badminton is not a popular sport in Uruguay, it has been gaining popularity after the country entered the Shuttle Time program organized by the Badminton World Federation.
