He is now a fencing coach. 2013 world team champion Kamil Ibragimov and four-time junior world champion Konstantin Lokhanov have been his pupils. He is married to two-time Olympic team épée champion Oksana Yermakova.
Nadiya Kazimirchuk-Fortunatova is a Ukrainian épée fencer, bronze medallist at the 2006 European Fencing Championships. She competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics, but lost in the first round to China's Zhang Li.
Sarra Besbes is a Tunisian épée fencer, seven-time gold medallist at the African Fencing Championships. She represented Tunisia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, placing eighth, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, placing fifth.
