Li Yanrong is a Chinese chemist and materials scientist who is currently the President of Sichuan University. Previously, he was President of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). [1] He is a chemical and materials engineer.

Early life

Li was born in Shehong, Suining, Sichuan province in 1961. He graduated with a PhD degree from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 1992. From 1978 - 1983, he studied his undergraduate degree at Sichuan Normal University, China in chemistry.[ citation needed ]

Career

In 1993, he joined UESTC as a faculty member. From 1998 - 2001, he became Dean of the School of Material Engineering. Thereafter, he became Dean of the School of Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics. From 2013 - 2017, he became President of UESTC. [2] Since December 2017, he has been the President of Sichuan University, China. In 2019, he was appointed the President of Sichuan Association of Science and Technology. [3]

Li was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2011. [4] [5]

Otto Lin was born Chui Chau Lin (林垂宙) in Shantou, Guangdong, China, in 1938. He came to Hong Kong as a refugee and went to Taiwan in 1953 where education at K-12 level was free. He attended National Taiwan University and received a BS in chemical engineering in 1960. After serving in ROTC, he was admitted to University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana for post-graduate studies. Later he transferred to Columbia University in the City of New York, received the Ph.D. degree in 1967 in chemistry. His doctoral research was on the relationship of macromolecular conformation and hydrodynamic properties of DNA.

Zeng Yong is a Chinese professor of management and academic administrator, currently serving as president of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China since September 2018.

Wei Shoukun was a Chinese metallurgist, physical chemist, and materials engineer. Considered a founder of metallurgical physical chemistry in China, he taught for eight decades at ten different universities. He was a founding professor and Vice President of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, and was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.

Peng Yuxing is a Chinese chemist and former politician. He served as President of the Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry and Vice President of the Chengdu branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After entering politics, he served as Party Secretary of the cities Neijiang and Mianyang, and became Vice Governor of Sichuan province in 2017. In April 2019, he came under investigation by China's anti-graft agencies and was stripped of his government posts. He was expelled from the Chinese Communist Party in October 2019.

Lin Jun is a Chinese engineer who is a professor, doctoral supervisor and dean of the College of Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering at Jilin University. He is a member of the China Instrument and Control Society (CIS), Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS), Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

Ma Jun is a Chinese environmental engineer who is a professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy dean of the School of Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology. He is a researcher of the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment.

Li Zhengming was a Chinese engineer who was a professor at Nankai University, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
