Counting Crows is an American rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Formed in 1991, the band consists of guitarist David Bryson, drummer Jim Bogios, vocalist Adam Duritz, keyboardist Charlie Gillingham, multi-instrumentalist David Immerglück, bass guitarist Millard Powers, and guitarist Dan Vickrey. Past members include the drummers Steve Bowman (1991–1994) and Ben Mize (1994–2002), and bass guitarist Matt Malley (1991–2005).

Augustana is an American rock band based in San Diego, California. The band formed in 2002 in southern Illinois and have released six studio albums and six EPs while being signed to Epic Records and Razor & Tie. They are best known for their song "Boston" and the album All the Stars and Boulevards. They are fronted by Daniel Layus, who is the only remaining member of the band.

Group members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo met in 1987 while studying at the Lycée Carnot secondary school. Robert J. Cushman is an American football coach. He was the co-offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and running backs coach at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California, from 2021 to 2022. Cushman served as the head football coach at Eastern Oregon University from 1997 to 2001, Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois from 2011 to 2014, the University of Minnesota Morris from 2015 to 2016, and Occidental College from 2017 until the football program's discontinuation in 2020. Cushman was also the head football coach at Feather River College, a community college in Quincy, California, from 2004 to 2006.
Cortez Thaddeus Ham Jr. is an American professional football fullback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Augustana Vikings and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Vikings after the 2016 NFL draft.
Daniel Robin Layus is an American musician. He was the lead vocalist and primary lyricist for the band Augustana and performs solo both under his own name as well as Augustana. On October 21, 2016, he debuted his first solo work, an album titled Dangerous Things.
