Liga Futbol Inc. is a Filipino corporation based in Pasig, Metro Manila [1] responsible for managing the Philippines Football League (PFL), the top-flight professional national football league in the Philippines. [2] It was created with the aim to professionalize the PFL and also manages the Copa Paulino Alcantara, the country's domestic cup. [3]

The company was established by the Philippine Football Federation and is meant to operate, manage, and stage competitions sanctioned by the national football federation. [4] The LFI adopted its own logo on 23 April 2018. [5]

The Philippines Football League, commonly known as PFL, is a Filipino professional association football league, sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). It is the Philippines' highest level of men's club football, surpassing the United Football League (UFL), which was previously the de facto top-tier league in the country.

The 2017 Philippines Football League was the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The league was officially launched on 21 April 2017 at Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig, while the first match of the season was played on 6 May. The PFL replaced the Metro Manila-based United Football League (UFL), which served as the country's de-facto top-level football league from 2009 to 2016. The league was made up of 8 clubs: 6 from the UFL and 2 expansion teams. Each club played the others four times, twice at their home ground and twice at that of their opponents', for 28 games. The teams that finished the season in the top four entered a playoff tournament to determine the league's champion.

The 2018 Philippines Football League was the second season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The season started on 3 March and concluded on 25 August. The league was contested by six teams from last season's eight, after Meralco Manila and Ilocos United withdrew before the season began. The postseason playoffs were discontinued due to the introduction of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, the domestic cup tournament which was held after league. Thus, the PFL became a pure quintuple round-robin tournament where each club played the others five times—each club playing 25 games.

The 2018 Copa Paulino Alcantara was the first edition of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, the domestic football cup competition of the Philippines. The competition started on September 1, 2018 and concluded on October 27, 2018, with Kaya–Iloilo winning the inaugural tournament after defeating Davao Aguilas 1–0 in extra time.

The Copa Paulino Alcantara, also known as the PFL Cup, is an annual football tournament in Philippines, sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation. The cup's first iteration began on September 1, 2018. It replaced the PFF National Men's Club Championship and the UFL Cup as the country's top domestic cup tournament.

Philippine Premier League Defunct top-level association football league in the Philippines (2019)

The Philippine Premier League (PPL) was a short-lived top-flight association football league in the Philippines sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). It was intended as a successor league to the Philippines Football League (PFL) which ran for two seasons. The first and only PPL season only had a single match day on April 27, 2019 before it was folded after the PFF withdrew its sanction of the league.
