The game uses traditional turn-based battles as its gameplay base while telling its narrative though visual novel-styled story and momentary gameplay cutscenes. At various times throughout the game, the player can either instigate or fall victim of various erotic scenes themed after yuri eroticism. [2]

Raidy, a wandering sword fighter roaming the land of Else, stops at the small village of Sadd to resupply. When she arrived, she notes as though she arrived at a grave town due to only elderly living in the area. The locals tell her all the youth, especially young women have all been abducted from the village and imprisoned by the monsters in the tower nearby. Raidy decided to help the people and investigates the tower to rescue the captives.

The game was first released in Japan under the title Ikazuchi no Senshi Raidy (雷の戦士ライディ) on September 20, 1994 for MS-DOS. A version for FM Towns and PC-9821 was released on October 7 of the same year, and a Windows 3.1 edition came out on August 23, 1996. [3]
The game was remade for Windows XP with the title Ikazuchi no Senshi Raidy ~Haja no Raikō~ (雷の戦士ライディ ～破邪の雷光～, Lightning Warrior Raidy ~Lightning that Defeats Evil~) on August 12, 2005. [3] On October 26, 2012, a bundle containing all three games in the series on DVD-ROM for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 was released, entitled Ikazuchi no Senshi Raidy ~Complete Pack~ (雷の戦士ライディ ～コンプリートパック～). In 2007, G-Collections, an affiliate brand of JAST USA, acquired the rights to release Lightning Warrior Raidy in English along with Snow Sakura . At that time, the release was planned for "mid- to late 2007", [2] [5] but English production didn't finish until May 13, 2008, when G-Collections announced that the game had hit "golden master" status. [6] Even before Lightning Warrior Raidy was available for sale, G-Collections had already revealed their plans to translate the sequel, Lightning Warrior Raidy II . [7]

In a review for Destructoid, Karen Gellender wrote: "So I'm probably not a good judge of this sort of thing, but my guess is that LWR is neither good hentai, or a particularly good dungeon crawler.... However, I couldn't in good conscience say that the title isn't entertaining. While it's very basic (think Etrian Odyssey without the mapping features), the actual gameplay is solid enough, and the artwork is attractive". [8]

Drakengard, known in Japan as Drag-On Dragoon, is a 2003 action role-playing video game developed by Cavia and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2. The game is the first installment of the Drakengard series and features a mixture of ground-based hack-and-slash, aerial combat, and role-playing elements which have become a staple of the series. The story is set during a religious war between two factions—the Union and the Empire—with the war tipping in favor of the Empire. Makoto Kawada, known by the pen name Makoto Raiku, is a manga artist known for creating the Zatch Bell! franchise. Starting off an assistant for Kazuhiro Fujita on his manga Ushio & Tora, he began creating several one-shots for the Weekly Shōnen Sunday shōnen manga anthology such as Bird Man, Hero Ba-Ban and Genmai Blade. By 1999, he had created the series Newtown Heroes, which was published in Shōnen Sunday Super, a seasonal publication featuring upcoming manga artists and one-shots from the main Sunday book.

Rygar is a 1986 side-scrolling platform game created by Tecmo. Metal Slug Anthology is a video game compilation for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PC and the Wii. It is the second entry in the eponymous series. It stars Yuko Asou, a Japanese schoolgirl teenager chosen to become the Valis warrior by wielding the titular mystical sword, after defeating the demon lord Rogles. The dream world Vecanti fell under the rule of emperor Megas, whose hatred towards his brother Rogles and bloodthirsty tendencies seeks to wipe out traces of the former tyrant, including his supporters. Gameplay varies between each version but all share similar elements, as the player explores and search for items and power-ups, while fighting enemies and defeat bosses.

Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. is a third person arcade game based on the Gundam Seed franchise. It was developed in 2005 by Capcom and published by Banpresto, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games in Japan. Similarly to Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam, the player can choose to ally themselves with either O.M.N.I., Z.A.F.T. or Blue Cosmos and fight against the other factions. The Arcade Mode has 9 stages plus a bonus Extra Stage.
Rendering Ranger: R2 is a 1995 side scrolling action video game developed by Rainbow Arts and published by Virgin Interactive for the Super Famicom. It was released only in Japan, and has gone on to be one of the rarest Super Famicom titles in existence. In June 2022, Ziggurat Interactive announced that the game would be ported to Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with Limited Run Games set to distribute physical copies for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Similar to its preceding series, Ultraman X, Orb is also simulcasted in North America via Crunchyroll. The series was also released on Toku on July 2, 2018, and then added to its streaming platform the following month.
