Liisamaija Laaksonen-Kaitue [1] (born 6 May 1938 in Lahti) is a Finnish actress, who has become famous for her roles in films and television series. She wrote several television shows in the 1990s and 2000s.
Laaksonen attended the Helsinki Theatre Academy from 1960 to 1963 and worked as a regular actress of Yle 1963-1998 and since 1998 as a free artist. She has appeared at the Finnish National Theatre, Intimiteatter, Helsinki City Theatre, Finnish National Opera, and Savonlinna Opera Festival. In addition, she has been reading poetry throughout Finland, as well as in Sweden, Germany, the United States, and Canada. [1]
Laaksonen sang at the end of the 1960s in a vocal band called Stidit, whose other members were also actresses Iris-Lilja Lassila and Tarja-Tuulikki Tarsala. Their greatest hits were the 1969 Pienenä tyttönä, a composition by Laaksonen.
Laaksonen has been awarded with three Jussi Awards for her performances in the films Black on White (1968), The Glory and Misery of Human Life (1989), and Kaivo (1992). Her role in the television series Solveigin laulu (1974) also gained widespread attention.
The Pro Finlandia Medal was awarded to Laaksonen in 1989. In 2012, she was awarded her lifetime achievement award at the Kultainen Venla. [2]
She is the mother of Katariina Kaitue, who is also an actress. [3]

Carola Christina Standertskjöld-Liemola, professionally known as Carola, was a Finnish jazz and pop singer. Her style was partially inspired by American singers of the 1950s. Simultaneously, it was in the spirit of the modal jazz scene going down in Europe in the 1960s. Mostly, Carola's jazz repertoire consisted in idiosyncratic versions of American songs in English, while her most famous jazz track "The Flame" was an original composition by Esa Pethman and the lyrics by the singer herself. As the vocalist for Esa Pethman's quartet and Hazy Osterwald's sextet in the early 1960s, Carola made fame in Finland and Sweden, and toured Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Switzerland. Her most significant recording is a session with the Heikki Sarmanto Trio from 1966, which the Finnish Music Information Centre considers among the original blueprints of Finnish jazz. Carola's recordings have been credited for the accosting tone of her contralto voice and her phrasing. The singer also co-produced the groovy approach of her supporting orchestras. In late 1960s and early 1970s, she performed in nine languages and a wide variety of styles, including chanson, schlager, Latin, rock'n'roll, and soul. After her death of Alzheimer's disease in 1997, Carola's music was revived in 2004 with two Best of albums and Carola & Heikki Sarmanto Trio reaching the Finnish charts.
Jorma Leo Kalevi Uotinen is a Finnish dancer, singer and choreographer. As a dancer and choreographer, Uotinen has worked both in many dance groups, both in and outside of Finland, since 1970. He has received many Finnish and international awards and honours in his career.
