The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Nicknamed the Black Caps,they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch,becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956,more than 26 years,for its first Test victory,against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. They played their first ODI in the 1972–73 season against Pakistan in Christchurch. New Zealand are the inaugural champions of WTC which they won in 2021 and they have also won ICC CT in 2000. They have played in the CWC final twice and the T20 WC final once.
Nathan John Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer,who played all formats of the game. A right-handed batsman who played as an opener in One Day Internationals (ODI),while batting in the middle order in Test matches. In a career that spanned 12 years,Astle played 81 Tests and 223 ODIs accumulating 4,702 and 7,090 runs respectively. As of 2022,he is New Zealand's fourth-most prolific run scorer. Astle collected 154 wickets with his medium-paced bowling at the international level. He holds two records –scoring the fastest double century in Test cricket and the second highest individual score in the fourth innings of a Test match. Both the records were achieved when he made 222 against England in Christchurch in 2002. Astle was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy. His innings of 145 not out is the highest individual score by a batsman in the ICC Champions Trophy,which he scored in the 2004 tournament.
Craig Douglas McMillan is a New Zealand cricket coach and former international cricketer who played all forms of the game. He was a right-handed batsman and useful right-arm medium pace bowler who played for Canterbury in New Zealand first-class cricket. He also played English county cricket for Hampshire and Gloucestershire County Cricket Clubs. McMillan was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy.
Deborah Ann Hockley is a New Zealand former cricketer who played as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. Hockley was the first woman to become President of New Zealand Cricket.
Todd Duncan Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for the New Zealand national cricket team. Astle began his cricket career as an opening batsman,representing New Zealand in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,but over time playing first-class cricket for Canterbury,he morphed into a bowling all-rounder. He made his Test cricket debut for New Zealand in 2012 in Sri Lanka,but did not play another international match until 2015. He represented New Zealand in all three forms of the game,but was unable to keep a consistent place in the team in any format because of regular injury problems and competition with other spin bowlers. In January 2020,Astle retired from first-class cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. In February 2023 he retired from all forms of professional cricket.
Colin de Grandhomme is a Zimbabwean-born former New Zealand international cricketer. He was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship,which was the inaugural tournament. He was a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

The 2000 Women's Cricket World Cup Final was a women's One Day International cricket match between New Zealand and Australia played on 23 December 2000 at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln,New Zealand. It was the culmination of the 2000 Women's Cricket World Cup,the seventh Women's Cricket World Cup. New Zealand won by 4 runs,clinching their first World Cup title,after finishing as runners-up in both the 1993 and 1997 tournaments. Rick Eyre of ESPNcricinfo suggested that it was "the greatest World Cup final ever."
Barbara Mary McDonald is an Irish former cricketer who played as a right-arm pace bowler. She appeared in one Test match and 57 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Ireland between 1993 and 2005,including appearing at the 1993,1997,2000,and 2005 World Cups.

Anne Margaret Linehan is a Northern Irish former cricketer who played as a left-handed batter and wicket-keeper. She appeared in one Test match and 60 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Ireland between 1989 and 2008. She has the seventh longest career in ODI matches.
