Elisabeth Schettner, known as Lisa Schettner (previously Liz Schettner), is a French singer-songwriter and producer, of French, Czech and German descent.
Environmentalist and human rights defender, Schettner is known for her activism through her songwriting, including her songs "Wild", "Hands Off Ukraine", "Bayraktar [Mashup Edition]", and "Out of Touch". Most of her other songs are romantic, folk, medieval, Celtic ballads. [1]
Schettner's song "Bayraktar [Mashup Edition]", written in collaboration with Ukrainian colonel Taras Borovok, [2] [3] talks about the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Major newspapers, such as The Telegraph [4] and La Dépêche, [5] picked up the story, and the song was also shared on the official Telegram page of the Ukrainian parliament. [6] The single made it to the Ukrainian hit parade, and has been played on Ukrainian radio stations. Georgian writer Tamuna Tsertsvadze, in her book Gift of the Fox, named one of the main characters Liz Schettner, in honour of the singer-songwriter. [13] [14] Following that, Schettner wrote "Edmund's Lullaby", based on Tsertsvadze's lyrics, as a soundtrack for Tsertsvadze's novel Zodiac Circle. [15]
Schettner's folk songs "Up High" and "Great Expectations" were elected for the Celtic Top 20 of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. During her childhood and teenage years, Schettner received private training by artists such as, among others, Ed Sadler, [19] Hilary Carrington, Simon Carrington, Carole Tarlington and Cameron Bancroft. Her training continued at The Lir Academy and Rose Bruford College. Lisa Schettner's dance skills, first oriented towards ballet, lyrical and jazz, flourished under the influence of Teya Wild (finalist in So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Season 4), and the Viennese Elmayer dance school. The Bayraktar TB2 is a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations. It is manufactured by the Turkish company Baykar Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., primarily for the Turkish Armed Forces. The aircraft are monitored and controlled by an aircrew in a ground control station, including weapons employment. The development of the UAV has been largely credited to Selçuk Bayraktar, a former MIT graduate student.

"Bayraktar" is a Ukrainian patriotic military propaganda song released on 1 March 2022 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Dedicated to the Baykar Bayraktar TB2 combat drone due to its successful deployment against Russian troops, the song is written by Ukrainian soldier Taras Borovok, and mocks both the Russian Armed Forces and the invasion itself.
There have been attacks in mainland Russia as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022. The main targets have been the military, the arms industry and the oil industry. Many of the attacks have been drone strikes, firebombing, and rail sabotage. The Ukrainian intelligence services have acknowledged carrying out some of these attacks. Others have been carried out by anti-war activists in Russia. There have also been cross-border shelling, missile strikes, and covert raids from Ukraine, mainly in Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk oblasts. Several times, Ukrainian-based paramilitaries launched incursions into Russia, captured border villages and battled the Russian military. These were carried out by units made up mainly of Russian emigrants. While Ukraine supported these ground incursions, it denied direct involvement.
