The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language, literature and culture, works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Panna Kaiser was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a member of Jatiya Sangsad selected for the women's reserved seats during 1996–2001. She was awarded 2021 Bangla Academy Literary Award in the research on liberation war category.

Agrani Bank Shishu Academy Children's Literature Award is a prize for writers working on children's literature, which is provided by the Bangladesh Shishu Academy. In 1981, Agrani Bank and Children's Literature Award was instituted. It was named 'Agrani Bank-Shishu Sahitya Puraskar' since 2007.

Chattogram City Corporation Literary Award is an annual literary award introduced by Chattogram City Corporation This award has been given in February every year since 2014 in recognition of outstanding contributions in various branches of Bengali literature at the national level.

Rabiul Hussain was a Bangladeshi poet and architect. He was one of the trustees of the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2009 for poetry. In recognition of his contribution to Bengali language and literature, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2018.
